According to a lip reading expert Matterazzi called Zidane " a son of a terrorist *****. " Then when Zidane spoke to the press about the incident he also claimed that Matterazzi had insulted both his mother and his sister. I think that Zidane was incredibly frustrated at his lack of chances but I also think that Matterazzi noticed this and insulted him in an effort to get a reaction.

Well you will see that after the shirt grab it's zidane that speaks first. Materazzi said that zizou told him in arrogance "if you want my shirt that badly i'll give it to you after the game"...you can see see zizou actually pointin to his shirt.. Then materazzi speaks...he declared that he didnt insult his mother seeing as he lost his when he was 15.

yeah I also heard about him losing his mother when he was just 15. But with both players giving conflicting accounts of what happened I suppose we'll never know for certain what really happened. But I think we can be certain that both players have to take the blame, maybe not equal blame but some blame nonetheless.
