Where do people go after death?

Physically, you are somewhere on this planet, into the ground, to the sea, or to a coffin..
I mean spiritually.

I think existence continues after death, but I think it will be in a way that we can't get our heads round - I don't think it will be like 'reincarnation' into an animal, or like human life as we know it now... I don't think there will be a 'heaven' like being as we are now but always happy, or harps and clouds etc... and I don't think of 'hell' like with fire and such... I do think existence continues but we can't imagine what it would be like.

if you belive in spirits you can imagine many things but you can not reach the answer by imagination..
As in my religion ( Islam ) it depends on what you did in your live so you may go to heaven or you may go to hell ( you may go to hell sounds funny lol ).

If we had the answer to where people go when they die then there wouldn't be any religious debate over it. Where people go is the grave or turned into ash. After that, I don't know what happens and I suspect no one does.

I would say, I don't know. I mean of course physically our bodies just die and decompose and all that. But as far as spiritually, depending on whether you believe in a soul or not, I don't think it's impossible for some kind existence to continue after that, but also there's the possibility that there is nothing after we die.

But for me, it comes down to not knowing.

I've never been dead so I don't know, but I do know there is more going on then what we can see so something happening to our spirit after death is possible imo. However since what I believe is alot more vague and the options are too "black and white" I haven't voted, maybe there should be a "not sure" option or something.

Spiritually, I have no idea. My guess is that the "spirit" (which I believe to be a mere illusion--I do not believe in the 'self' per se) dissipates upon death and reforms in another combination somewhere.

I have a serious and very deep belief as to what happens when we die, and it has been tested with quite a few experiences that psychologists love to dumb up with drugs.

I know for a fact that I have know idea what happens to the soul.... if there is one. Perhaps our experiences and emotions live on as residual energy and we end up creating our own "afterlife", different from others. So we wouldn't be with any loved ones, we would just think we were. My Dad just told me that he's building a website to celebrate the centenary of my grandma's birth in October. She died in 1996. He's inviting anyone who knew her to post photos and anecdotes to commemorate her life.

Clearly, my grandma is still fondly remembered many years after her death, even though she achieved no great deeds and left behind no legacy other than the family who still mourn her. That's the only kind of afterlife I need to believe in.
