Everyone talks about how good shabu-shabu is, but I have yet to try it.
Maybe one day.

Sushi and Udon are favs at the moment.

Udon or Sushi.... thats a really hard choice. Sushi doesn't really fill me up like Udon does. But, sushi is very good too............. Well, i pick a bowl of Udon with 2 Sashimi on the side. It's gotta be octopus or smoked samon. I like eel too but i just rather have those two :-)

My fave Japanese foods is Okonomiyaki ^^ I eat this with my family, one times per week! I like eating suchi and ramen too. I ate sushi in Japanese restaurant in Wroclaw near my home place in Poland. unfortunatly I can't eat this oft >>' In Poland Japanese foods aren't very populat yes, and are very expenive >.<

Ramen and tonkatsu are not Japanese foods.Somen is Japanese though so to lump it with ramen is an arseheaded act.Get your facts straight before posting such disinformation.
My Japanese wife cooks Japanese food for me.

can i vote for all of them?? hiks...hiks... i really want to vote them all...

but,, in the end, i pick just one,,, ramen...but,,yah ^^ i like ramen so much..

i got so fat yesterday i spent 50 bucks at the sushi bar!!

i had 2 octopus sashimi, 2 squid nigiri, and a salmon on ginger (just raw fish. no rice or anything). Then i had a giant bowl of spicy teriyaki chicken with udon. I felt so full after that but... holy cow was that GOOOOOOODDDD. :joyful:

Sashimi is my favorite on your poll list and it is what I voted for, but more specifically my favorite is tataki.

The absolute best foods I have tried were both at ryokans (Japanese inns):
-yuba in boiled green soy milk (Not sure why the milk was green but it was GOOD)
-katsuo tataki in Kochi, Shikoku

Sorry I can't translate..... I'm not really sure how to say these things in English!! (yuba...tataki... I just looked up "katsuo" and it says "bonito"...but err, does that really help anybody who doesn't know Japanese?)

Is it really that obvious what Sushi is? Most people still believe Sushi only consists of raw fish. They sometimes make me wanna shout: Heck, sushi can be even without fish!
Anyways, I chose Okonomiyaki but I had a pretty hard time to decide since I also love Ramen and Udon and Gyouza and Tonkatsu, well I love almost EVERYTHING on the list. But then again, I might just be greedy for food.

White Girl, if it's any help, Bonito is a dry flaked fish product that is cooked in water to make fish broth. Yuba is just thin sheets of dried soy milk (it's like a cousin of tofu and is sometimes called Bean Curd Skin). Hope that helps....

I love Sashimi, we have this little restaurant here in Soho called Hi Sushi, where the food is essentially not all that great, but it has all you can eat Sushi / Sashimi which is great! :)

Sashimi +++++++++, Agadashi tofu, and all thinks tofu, Tempura, Sushi, and Sukiyaki/Shabu shabu, and my best quick fix lunch is some Japanese pickles on left-over cold rice with hot tea poured over like a broth: not sure what it's called though

if you guys live in tokyo and like ramen i suggesting go to kyushu jangara ramen restaurant at harajuku it just around the corner facing i think south exit of harajuku station. i can eat this ramen 3-5 times a week until i sick about it ^.^

Hokkai mini don, rice tops with smoked salmon crab feet salmon roes etc .... VERY DELICIOUS :-)

Gyouza ichi ban of them all. I definitely love it. I wait every Saturday to go eat at grandma's house so I can eat the delicious gyouza she makes for me, I love it.

Ramen or Donburi is what I like the most! ^_^

It sucks that I can't get either here..

I like everything I have tasted on that list. =)
