What's going on in New England?

Another late update, but JREF was down, so I have an excuse. The Sox take game 4, 3-0, and complete a sweep of the Cardinals in the World Series.

LOL yeah that would be a great way to do it! I'm rooting for the Sox, I've been rooting for them for a few years now, even though I am a Braves fan at heart. I saw about 3 innings of yesterdays game before I dozed off (I got off work at 8am and the game started at 9:30am here )

Crazy, I used to be a Braves fan, too! Lately I've stopped following them and caring about them in general, because they just aren't that interesting anymore. I miss Dale Murphy!

Anyway, yeah, the eight straight postseason wins is pretty incredible. So New England already has two champions in the same calendar year; I wonder if they will get it in the same seasons. Only time will tell, but the Pats seem to show no signs of slowing down.

Well, the streak is over. The Pats fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers today in a unilateral victory, [Edit]34-20. They still have a half game lead in the AFC East, and hold the tie breaker over the Jets for the time being, with one game remaining between the two teams in week 16. Now the only unbeaten team left in the league is Philadelphia, at 7-0.

One thing that was brought to my attention earlier was that a Massachusetts senator is running for president (not that I didn't know it, I just wasn't thinking of it in connection with the sporting world). How crazy would it be for the Sox and Pats to win their respective championships, and a Massachusetts senator win the presidency in the same year?!
