What scares you?!

I actually afraid of pain, even the slightest..like i think spiders are so cute but i wont pick one up cause i'm afraid it will bite me
i'm scared of failing in life, my biggest fear is loosing my mom, she's everything to me and somedays i feel like she's all i have
on a lighter note i'm also not a big fan of being in a bathing suite or bein totally naked (yah definatly dont like that) 😌

@anisatasia, that's ok, I"m 34 and still uncomfortable in either circumstance you listed above, It's called "shyness" its not a "fault" it's just uncertainty of being accepted/rejected etc. it's a protective wall/unit/field we put around ourselves, and it helps us feel strong (in our own wee way); But I do wish this wall/unit/field ect could be taken down as easily, it would help us all if it could be soo easily erased just as easily as we all assembled it!!!🙂 😌

BE AFRAID, VERY AFRAID !!!!!

Frank in a bathing suit or OOOOOOWWW, Nude. SOOOOOO GROSSSSSSSSSSSSS & hairy !!

Will clear a beach quicker than jaws !!

Your student moved to Oregon....? I'm sorry to hear that....Unemployment is rampant up in De-Portland...hope your student has a job....I still don't after 8 months now :D

My former student moved to Medford.

He has applied for two jobs already, without luck. Fortunately he's only 20 and lives with his parents.

In addition to studying Chi Kung from me, he trains in Tae Kwon Do.

Miss Deborah,

Still awaiting your questions. No p.m. from ya yet. You can send it any time, a.m. or p.m.

Where 'bouts in Ireland are ya?

I was listenin' to Ronan Hardiman's "Love Song" CD today. Have you heard of him?

Well, if his parents live in Medford and he's living at home and still in his twenties, then, I guess...ok.....not exactly sure what he'd do out in Medford, but......not sure what I'm going to do in this mushroom forest I live in either :D

know any good websites on your Chi Kung? I have no idea what it's about, but it sounds interesting

I posted something here once and a few unenlightened members said it was all fake. But since you asked, I'll entertain your curiosity.

Kozo Nishino is a famous Chi Kung master in Japan. He and I trace back to the same Grandmaster Wang. Sensei Nishino's photo: The Breath of Life: Using the Power of Ki for Maximum Vitality: Nishino, Kozo: 9784770020222: Amazon.com: Books

I will, once again, state that this book is published by Kodansha, the biggest publisher in Japan. They would not have risked their reputation by publishing a fake photo. The sensei spreads his arms and generates chi to send the men flying backwards. Note the second guy from the left--his hair would not stand up like that if he were falling backwards on his own.

I've been practicing Yi Chuan since 1987. It is a form of Chi Kung because it emphasizes the development of Chi energy:

Thanks for the info, Golgo....
I know too little to nothing to make an opinion at this time, but I have found, in my non-knowledgeable experience, that many previously attested falsehoods are now established solid theories and facts, so who am I to say what you study is fake or not? I don't necessarily go for all the metaphysical stuff, personally, because a lot of it has been faked by very good illusionists and magicians or con artists, but now that theories of multiple universes, dark matter and its non-existence, and what we once knew is always being challenged, it's always good to know that there are still things out there that I have never heard about and can explore to see what it's about...

Just got the results of my most recent MRI of the brain taken on 1/20. According to the radiologist's report there are "no residual or recurring tumors present."

TOO MUCH CHANGE IN THE FORUM

Scares the heck out of me !! I wonder how many bugs will be hiding in the new server and set-up ?? Will there be room for crazies like me and having fun ??

Son,

You need to start taking some martial arts classes.

And/or do some heavy-duty weight lifting.

I'm terrified that one day Golgo is going to actually show me that I do know something, and when that time comes, all my cherished walls and fortifications of self-induced denials and mind-blasting Lovecraftian nightmares will descend upon the remnants of my sanity, sending me into the abyss and chaos of bubbling infinity of Azathoth and Cutethulhu... :D

or the day Thomas bans me from the forums because I make fun of his samurai frownie avatar! :o

Here's a longer essay on Chi energy:

MY THEORIES ON CHI ENERGY

My teacher was master Y.P. Dong of Shanghai, author of

powerful-as-thunder.gif

He taught a style called "Yi Chuan" which is very similar to Tai Chi. Yi Chuan was founded by Grandmaster Wang Hsiang Tzai, one of the greatest Chinese martial artist of the 20th Century. My teacher, master Dong, was one of master Wang's last direct students. When master Dong accepted me as a formal "Chinese student", we had a small ceremony with incense, and I had to sit on the floor and bow down to an old black & white photo of Grandmaster Wang. It was reported that in the late 1930s a Japanese Judo expert named Sawai challenged Grandmaster Wong to a fight, and every time the Judo guy tried to attack he was pushed back several feet on his arse with a slight touch of the hand. That Japanese Judo guy became a student of Grandmaster Wang, returned to Japan and later founded his own Yi Chuan style called "Tai Ki Ken".

Chi is essentially electromagnetic energy that sustains life. Whenever I give a demonstration and generate an energy field and have someone feel it, that person says "It feels like warm steam." In fact, the Chinese character for Chi kind of looks like a pot of rice being cooked.

If you take a steel rod and wrap some electrical wires around it, run a current through the wire, the rod will turn into a magnet. The flow of electrons creates energy. Chi is generated the same way. Oxygen provides a positive pole toward which electrons can flow, and deep, slow, focused abdominal breathing emphasized in Chi Kung increases oxygen intake and utilization ability. Also, the slow, relaxed, effortless movements performed while taking these deep breaths (such as in Tai Chi) will develop the ability to control and direct the Chi flow.

How can very strong Chi move or push people or objects without contact?

If you take two magnets and hold the North end of one magnet against the South end of the other, the two magnets will attract each other. But if you hold North against North or South against South, they will repel each other with contact from the magnetic field. Chi works the same way. Every live organism has an energy field around it. If a guy were to attack me, his energy field would be directed at me, like pointing one end of a magnet. If I counter that by generating an energy field, my chi would be much stronger so the attacker's energy field would be pushed back.

Advanced practitioners will also absorb Chi from the earth through the soles of the feet and cosmic energy through the crown chakra. The traditional way to practice Chi Kung is to generate Chi by deep breathing exercises, then absorbing it in the Tan Dien, like recharging a battery. And every time you need to use up some Chi for fighting or for healing, you use up some.

However, this is not an efficient way to deal with your own Chi. If I had to give a healing treatment to a very ill person, my own Chi could get so drained that I might become ill myself. What I've learned to do is to channel energy. By channelling, I don't use up my own reserves of Chi. I absorb it from the earth through my feet and send it out simultaneously through my hands. Here's an analogy: Let's say you're washing your car. You've scrubbed away, and now it's time to rinse it all off. You pour water into a bucket then go to the car and use up the water gradually to rinse the car. When you run out of water, you go back to the faucet and refill the bucket. But what if you could attach a rubber hose to the faucet? You grab the other end of the hose and spray the water on the car without using the bucket. I train in Chi Kung to become that hose so that I'll be able to use the infinite energy source of the planet or the cosmos and simultaneously use it without depleting my own Chi levels.

Master Paul Dong, also an expert in Yi Chuan, but not related to my teacher master Y.P. Dong,

Has had his Chi measure using an electron spectrometer at over 3,000 volts. Imagine taking a steel rod 160 cm in length and 80 kg, wrap some electrical wires around it, and then flow 3,000 volts of electricity. The resulting electromagnetic force would be tremendous.

In Encounters with Qi (pronounced "chee") by David Eisenberg,

The author writes of his own experience witnessing a Chi Kung master emitting his energy and causing a lantern hanging from ceiling several meters away to swing. Eisenberg, a clinical research fellow at Harvard, has had several singular opportunities to observe Chinese medical practices, most notably as the first American medical exchange-student there. In this personal narrative, he introduces practitioners of acupuncture and herbalism, a blind itinerant masseur, psychic children, and master healers who perform incredible feats through Qi's direction, the vital energy at the core of Chinese medical philosophy.

Great info, Golgo.
It reminds me of what I've read from Morihei Ueshiba. (sp?)
Do you think there is a connection to Aikido?

Chi energy is the same thing as what the Japanese call "Ki".

Ueshiba sensei spent some time in China during the '30s but seemed to not have any interest in Tai Chi or in other soft internal styles of Chinese martial arts, which I find was odd, as does Ueshiba's biographer John Stevens, who is a professor and an Aikido instructor at Tohoku University.

I've also studied Aikido but they don't seem to have exercises to specifically strengthen Ki energy.

Golgo, how would one go about finding one of his schools?

One of whose schools?

Kozo Nishino? He is originally from Osaka and he has a school somewhere near Sumiyoshi, I think. He has dojos in Tokyo as well.

There are people in Japan who practice Yi Chuan, and they call it "I Ken". I have the address of the Japanese I Ken association at home.
