I don't know how I started getting all curious about Japan. I really don't know how, but now after researching for a Japan forum, I found way more than what I was looking for and expecting, I got people who I can relate to, knowing that we all share the love for the country. So, I feel quite good when I am in the forum.
I came here to learn about Japanese culture, for some simple translation and information... and then stayed for some invigorating discussions with rather interesting people on a variety of topics. The American topics and serious discussions including discussions on religion and philosophy were taken to Europe for some odd reason... and now I really don't post any more. I lurk. I love reading what others have to say... but I don't really have an opinion on most of the things here.
I come here to discuss aspects of Japan, the history, and culture. Also, I might find answers to questions I have. I was in another forum (that will remain unidentified), but it started to get a little wierd. The following URL does not represent why I come here, but it was the first thing I thought of when I saw the subject for this thread!
First I came here looking for info, lurked for a while, registered and kept browsing only for some time. Now I've decided to provide info too, whenever someone needs it and I know a possible/suitable answer.
I found Jref by accident when I was looking up information on marriage customs of Japan. My then fiance (now husband) is Japanese and I felt that if we were going to get married I better know a little bit more about his country and culture. Then I found out that I really liked the discussions whether they are about Japan or not. And that there are some really cool people here, and some that are very clever that never fail to amuse me with their quick wit, dry humor and hilarious outlook on life.
i joined the forum as i was a bit concerned about my obsession for japan i suppose i just wanted to find people who shared a similiar interest as none of my freinds are half as interested in japan than i am. also i was hoping to speak to some jmen/jwomen for a better insight into what the countries all about.
I come here to learn all I can about Japan and its culture since I've always been interested in it and I wanted to find people with similar interests while havinf fin and of course learning something.
I came here through luck and stay to kill time, having fun with the other members. ill post on almost anything although i try my best to stay away from the ones about war. I think;

I like how theres a huge spectrum of age here. It's not just kids or old people. They interact with each in a way they wouldn't do normally. And I love meeting people with similar interests but different views on stuff. Theres certainly some 'personalities' on here....
