wanting to do a japanese course online, home based. Possible in the uk?

I'm from England and cannot find a site anywhere where i can do a home based course and gain some kind of qualification for further education or to move to japan. Any advice?
I don't want to be going back to college for 2 years learning stuff i am not interested in just to be able to go to university..

My son took the first two semester of Japanese online from the University of Alabama, which is 1,000 miles from us so no reason that you couldn't do it from the UK. I was impressed with the quality of the instruction. Their website is Online Japanese Language Program
