Obviously Halo 3 is an fps, while FF XIII isn't simply an RPG, nor is MGS4 "just" tactical espionage action, they're both promised epics.
Yes, epics where the majority of the fan base went to either the Wii, XBOX 360, and/or PC since Sony isn't pulling out a lot of decent titles as of late. Most of them are third party ports that aren't that great compared to the originals on the 360 or PC. Fact of the matter is that Sony is really gambling their market shares up just to have a complicated and expensive machine to program that only produces shiny visuals in the end. Konami even came out and stated if they don't sell one million copies of MGS4 on the first day that they will seek "alternative options" to gain back the heavy development costs for the game. Either Sony gets their heads out of their collective asses, and make a better hardware and software line up that isn't raping you in price and is a rip off of something else, or they will end up being a dead duck in water before the end of it all.
I think that you know not a fig what you're talking about. Please try to contribute to a thread in which you have some decent knowledge to share, without your axe to grind

So you are denying that the market shares for Microsoft and Nintendo are less than Sony?
Lol what? PS3 has higher fail rate than the Xbox? Thats something new to me, perhaps you forgot about the red ring of death?
Its quite the opposite.
Sony loses cash on each PS3, they can't afford to flood the market with rubbish such as the Xbox.
This is a mere google search, but please look for yourself: xbox 360 failure rate - Google-keresés
Obviously the numbers are way too high, unreal, but still that doesn't change the fact that, even if it isn't 60%, the Xbox has a damn high failure rate.
Also whats with the Backward compatibility complaining?
1, if you wan't it, buy the expensive model.
2, plenty of PS2 games work, more than 10%, way more.
Also, its worth checking the exclusives library

And another deciding factor
Final Fantasy XIII & XIII Versus
-------------------------
Microsoft Xbox / 0 (yes zero, zilch, zil)
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Sony Playstation 3 / 1 (as you can see)
Undeniable.
And you shouldn't forget the PS3's 7 core processor.
In all honesty, its a fight between quality and price.
The Xbox is just another little thing for counter strike kids to drool to.
AHMYGAWD HALO 3?
IDK! FPS = no story, no depth, nothing.
The only FPS I care about is frame per second in my anime, and not first person shooters. Many PS3 fans think alike, no wonder there are people who buy the console because of Square-Enix.

Nintendo screwed it all when it was b1tching about censoring Final Fantasy... come on, whats there to censure in FF?
Now regarding the topic.
Nice, the Wii is nice, but its a toy, obviously it is. It is meant for casual gamers, not the hardcore no life, sick, necrophil, paranoid, evil game addicts. *proudly makes the metal sign*

credit of the list goes to stunt @ps3forums. Doc, why dont you read this list and say the ps3's titles fail. All i'am going to say is that 2008 is the PS3's year. End of story.
@karlyboo
Only 14% of gamers use their systems for watching movies. In other words, WB going Blu-ray doesn't mean jack in the grand scheme of things for gamers.
Bit short sighted, IMO. Sony's major gambit this generation was increasing the likelihood of Bluray being adopted as the nextgen standard at the expense of making their console initially less appealing due to a higher price tag by bundling the two together ($100 extra). If in fact they get away with that (as it looks like they might, if this news from Warner is any indication) then not only is the long-term plan for said console justified but they're liable to be able to cut production costs (again) for game developers as a further investment in the future of the console, thanks to the security provided by licensing fees from Bluray disks.
In short, I'd argue Sony have very much tied the futures of Bluray and the Playstation 3 together. I'm sure one could very well survive without the other, but success for one can only be of benefit to the other.
