my wife told me that our 5 year old identical twin boys would never be educated in the us. we would have to move to Japan. so we packed up and moved.
Being a newcomer to a country in which I cannot speak or write has been difficult; even though it's only been several weeks. In the US, my wife relied of forums to get advice. Hopefully, this forum can help me survive in Japan.
If this forum is anything like my wife's forum when living in the US, then it might not be so bad.

Good luck with your new life in Japan! I wish you the very best!

Honestly, as much as people can complain about the Japanese educational system, I can sympathise with your wife. I don't know how I would feel about sending my own kids (if I had any) to public school in many places in the US!

I hope we can be of service to you!

welcome here in jref and your wife too ...
I hope to be enjoy in here

hey, nothing wrong with the american public school system!!! we headbang to x and nirvana while the new president's making his first ever speech, we headbang in the film club, we wear lolita clothes to class, last year our debate team consisted of a goth lolita girl, a guy with 12 piercings in his face and a mohawk, a harried nerd and a cosplayer...

uh, yeah, i kinda see your wife's point here. kids in school here can be so mean, esp to people who are different. at least your kids will not be scrambling their brains during class... or other such things. just pray they don't take up visual kei!! (actually i think vk is quite a positive thing, and i would definitely let my kids listen to vk, my mum introduced me to marilyn manson when i was 10, and i turned out fine!!)

anyway, good luck :-) and welcome :-)
