I am still waiting for the placement result. So everyone got the result???
So everyone got the result???
Two questions - upon arrival, how is our health care handled. Is it covered?
Also, is transportation from Narita covered? Does everyone fly into Narita and then go from there?
I'll be going to Kobe so even if I arrive Osaka I'm going to have to travel inland.
Haven't seen clear info either of these points, wondering if anyone knew anything. Cheers guys
Meaning to Narita?Based on my previous experience, for health care we need to enroll for "kenkou hoken" (health insurance) and application can be done at nearest district office. The fee is around 100usd per year if i not mistaken.
And for the transportation, I am quite positive the expense is under us. MEXT only covers flight ticket from home country to Japan.
Mra
Meaning to Narita?
Cheers
Hello, and sorry if I interrupt the conversation. Has anyone been aware of their university placement results yet? I am quite worried since some of the grantees in my country who had received LoAs from my prospective university has already been contacted regarding dormitory bookings.
I received an e-mail from Todai administration regarding dormitory booking on Christmas, even though there is no news from the embassy and my prospective supervisor.
Pretty much, yes. It just means that Todai is faster than MEXT, when it comes to contacting scholarship recepients. Congratulations!I also received an e-mail by Todai administration on Christmas, concerning the accommodation options that the university is offering. Does that mean that the university placement has already been unofficially completed?
Well, I have contacted my scholarship advisor. If the university contacted us regarding dormitory booking, it means we have been placed in the respective university. So, we'll be in the same school.I received an e-mail from Todai administration regarding dormitory booking on Christmas, even though there is no news from the embassy and my prospective supervisor.
I think I still can't quit my job until I get the official announcement from the embassy.
Congratulations Finan! And all the others contacted by Todai.
I'm still anxiously waiting for news on my placement:nailbiting: I had Tohoku as my 1st choice, then Nagoya and University of Tsukuba respectively.
