MEXT Scholarship for Postgraduate 2011: General Discussions.

Dear friends, I have shell shocked over regret by the embassy that my position has been eliminated although I was a recommended principal candidate and sought LOA from Kagoshima University from Pakistan for 2011. The number of scholarships has been reduced from 11 to 8 for Pakistan this year. But I have not been informed , how have I been dropped out of the fair process? What a intellect loss to me!

Thanks for advice and it was PhD Biological Sci starting as Research Student. As this was last chance for me and i will be over 35 y on april 1st 2011, I dn't know whether it would be considered for 2012 or not!
Hey there, the exactly same thing happened to me back in February 21st (I posted some details on pages 57, 58, I guess). I perfectly understand your situation, this really is a major setback...I heard of other similar cuts here in Brazil, and so far we were not told anything yet about the parameters or criteria for ruling us out of the whole process so late.
I truly hope you will be allowed to apply once again this year, though I am not entirely aware of the age limit for the candidates. Best of luck for us all!

MEXT 2012 scholarship has been started and end of this month deadline of submitting the applications. I will recommend you that you have better to try again in this earliear section and also go over the embassy URL.

With recent earthquake followed by a Tsunami, Japan has been surely plunged into a crisis. My condolence for their loss and praying for the people and for the many families who have to bear a loss of lifetime :|

My deepest sympathy for the loss of life and devastation suffered by the people of Japan following the earthquake and Tsunami, I share your grief for this tragic disaster and would like to express my heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.

i m also waiting for the info from embassy. I believe they are overwhelmed by the queries from scholars. Let's be patient and wait together.

Yes, We have to wait till embassy gives us the official notice. Hopefully, there is not bad news for all of us.
My embassy and university have both given me the flight schedule that I'm going in April 4th. Since my university is in Kyoto which is far away from the tohoku place in the northeast of Japan, I guess there would be little influence. But I guess that those going to tohoku university might have some changes in plan.
Have you got the Air Ticket Yet? If everything is confirmed, there is no problem. Here in Cambodia, Embassy does not give airticket and leave schedule yet. It told all candidates one day before earthquake that those things will be give on 18th-03-2011 at the party.
But up to now, after earthquake, no new updating yet.
Haven't got airtickets now, just confirmed info about the flight.
Also, don't worry about the scholarship. As long as the amount is set up, I don't think the Japanese Gov would take back their words to give us nothing. There might be some changes in the amount but that will be from the next year.
Also, I don't really think the earthquake and the tsunami would inflence the education affiars. Don't making a fuss on the scholarshi thing, everybody.
