looking for old traditional music

I like to listen to "the last samurai " soundtrack, THAT style of music.
most the stuff I am finding, with all do respect, is just like "ahhhh, my ears."
don't know what instrument it is, but its kind of like nails on a chalboard.
like I said, I mean total respect, but I hate being dishonest.

well, the last samurai soundtrack isn't really traditional music. Its simply music played on the pentatonic scale.
