Politics Japan and Trump 2.0

You're wrong you're feeling a lesson since they won't help out they won't even let the B1 bomber fuel in Europe okay Trump said kiss my * when you need our help kiss our *

Well, the war against Iran is not very popular in the U.S. and even less so among key allies, many of whom were not consulted before the conflict began. No wonder, they're reluctant to commit.

Anyhow, PM Takaichi seems to have had a good time in Washington:

The best (and non-partisan) summary of the U.S.-Japan Summit comes from Tobias Harris, as always:

I've hear Orange fatty is removing sanctions on Iranian oil. Can his motives be any more obvious? Yes, he' trying to distract from highly incriminating data in the Epstein files.

I hope somebody in the US government is still wading through the Epstein files.

By the way, why 'Ep-steen' and yet 'Ein-styne'?

Is it Franken-steen or Franken-styne?

As they're all of German origin, it is 'Epp-shtyne,' 'Ayn-shtyne' and 'Franken-shtyne' to me.

The thomas-meister has spoken! It seems to be the American's who use the '-steen' pronunciation and since the UK is the 51st state, (although that seems to be fading…) we copy them.

I had to use AI to tease out the meaning of your post.
Just a couple comments:
  • "straight shooter" means a person who is honest, direct, and straightforward—someone who says what they mean without deception or unnecessary tact. It implies reliability and plain-speaking. He is none of this except he is sometimes direct, especially when he is lying which is almost constantly.
  • if he wants allies help he should consult them. That's why he should tell them. Not whine about it later when they don't help him after years of insulting them.
  • Japan did not say they are sending a ship. Where are you getting your alternative facts from? The main uproar is about his stupid a$$ comment comparing his not telling them about the impending attack on Iran to Japan not telling us about their impending attack on Pearl Harbor. We are allies now, We were not then. Do you see the difference?
  • So a strong president to you is somebody who attacks another country even though there is no imminent threat? Or a president who makes promises to help people and solve problems and never follows through? Or a president that boasts that he knows more than everybody including his generals? Or a president who promised to release the Epstein files while on the campaign trail and then did everything in his power not to release them after entering office? Or a president who only surrounds himself with sycophants with the primary hiring characteristic being loyalty. Or a president who says that America's military dead are losers and suckers?
  • I learned from the media that Iran has been bombing oil fields. If you follow real media, it's been reported on. But so what? Why shouldn't they? Israel struck theirs first. Do you expect them to roll over just because the U.S. and Israel attacked them?
  • Trump is mortgaging our future on this war and single-handledly reducing America's power and influence. Even his super MAGA counter-terrorism chief resigned because the war is bullsht. Of course his head is still up Trump's rear-end so he is blaming Israel for it. See his resignation letter here.

I just watched Gavin Newsome being interviewed on 'The Rest is Politics'. He is the epitome of statesman. Articulate, knowledgeable, respectful, smart and young. It's just his hairstyle that worries me

He's more of a typical politician. That is, he has deep flaws. But compared to Trump he's a genius and a statesman.

Ah, I know little of him. He seems to have come from humble beginnings though.

A lot of people will be saying the middle two sentences when the time comes.

Further: Iran says Hormuz open to all but 'enemy-linked' ships

He is the epitome of 'fork tongued'. Duplicitous, imprecise due to being inarticulate with a narrow vocabulary.

You forget Orange Git-face has little in the way of 'theory of mind'. He's incapable of putting himself in other's shoes and hence, understand others.

Bush and Blair…
  • Or a president who makes promises to help people and solve problems and never follows through?
'TACO'
  • Or a president that boasts that he knows more than everybody including his generals?
A low IQ narcissist.
  • Or a president who promised to release the Epstein files while on the campaign trail and then did everything in his power not to release them after entering office?
A 'liar'.
  • Or a president who only surrounds himself with sycophants with the primary hiring characteristic being loyalty.
Narcissist.
A perfect description!

Consider providing evidence for any garbage you post instead of regurgitating whatever is showing up on your feeds without any critical thought.

Speaking of shtposting (and truly disgusting people that this world would be better off without), I just heard an interview with a guy who used to work for Alex Jones. Why are there evil people like him? And how are they able to become so successful? And why are there so many people who are so gullible and willing to fall for the b.s.?

Although this is way down the list of current concerns, with Trump likely to be ordering genocide on Iran, I thought I'd post this for completeness.

So all Japan's kowtowing to the US served no purpose at all. As I keep saying, there is no benefit for any country in cooperating with the US until there is a new administration.

I'm the last person to defend our PM, but "kowtowing" sounds a bit harsh. She was playing along, avoiding unnecessary conflict, while always reciting her "what Japan can and cannot legally do" mantra. There is not much more she could have realistically done in times when today's "hellfire" and "ending a civilisation" can turn into "very good and productive talks" tomorrow.

Hopefully TACO this time too.

The benefit is that he'll direct his ire and crybaby tantrums on other countries. It was to Japan's benefit to stroke his ego and at least give lip service to cooperating.

And she's taking things into her own hands:

PM Takaichi said on 6 April that Japan is arranging separate high-level talks with Iran, as the situation in the Middle East continues to worsen and a deadline set by U.S. President Donald Trump draws closer. She was speaking at a session of the House of Councillors Budget Committee. Takaichi said preparations are underway for dialogue between leaders at an appropriate time. She added that all possible measures are being considered, without going into detail.

Hopefully TACO this time too.

Being nice to the bully in the hope that he'll pick on others is a contemptible position to take.

Her responsibility is to Japan and the Japanese people. There is no benefit to pissing him off needlessly.

Perhaps it would be better to state it thusly:
The benefit is that he'll redirect his ire and crybaby tantrums elsewhere. Ideally on Marco Rubio, Kash Patel, Kristi Noem, Pete Hegseth or Pam Bondi.

Take it from a Californian, if there is a person who is more incompetent for his job than RFK Jr. is, its Newsome.
