Sorry, but you're pointing the finger at the wrong guy. I haven't bashed Japan anywhere. I was just pointing out the facts as a correction to Golgo_13's misconception about Japan. And where did I bring up "the greatness of China"? All I did was defend China against misconceptions about Tibet. If I want to unilaterally start topics about "the greatness of China" then sure, I will go to a China forum. But I have the right to talk about China in the context of the ongoing discussions where relevant. Your lumping me and Jim83 together is unwarranted.noyhauser said:God what a troll thread. Da Mo and Jim83 do you have anything better to do than to bash japan? If you want to speak about the greatness of China go find yourself a china forum.

Possibly. I never said you were ignorant about Japan. That doesn't mean I cannot point out a fact you may not know or have not considered.Golgo_13 said:I think I know about Japan as much as anyone else here, if not more. Certainly more than you.

DaMo said:The Japanese empire annexed the independent kingdom of Okinawa (which, by the way, was a tributary of China for three prior centuries) in 1897. As far as I know, Okinawa is still part of Japan.

loving your own country does not mean you have to love your government.
that is a totally different thing.
in fact I hate the governments of Japan,USA and UK too,
but I like those countries.
If you do love China, you would not want her to give away provinces just because the current government is crappy. Once it happens, it cannot be undone.Dream Time said:I love China,

The Reversion of Okinawa in 1972Golgo_13 said:Only except people in Okinawa don't want freedom and independence from Japan. In fact, when Okinawa was formally returned to Japan by the U.S. in 1972 people there were happy to become the 47th prefecture.
People of Tibet want their independence from China.

Now that you mention Mongolia, it was in fact part of the Chinese empire during the 17th-19th century, until it was wrested from China by the USSR.Golgo_13 said:Based on your logic, I'll assume that China is still a part of Mongolia since Genghis Khan ruled it years ago.
The communist government under Mao destroyed to some extent the cultural heritage of all of China, not just Tibet. But now that the Cultural Revolution is over and the old Maoist order is dead, the Chinese government is investing several millions into repairing the damage wrought by its radical revolutionist predecessors.Dream Time said:the Communist government destroys the culture of Tibetans

Korea? Why should Korea be a province of China? And what does that have to do with Dream Time's post?Golgo_13 said:Is Korea a province of China?
You got me all confused.
