Initial D Arcade Stage Ver. 3

well in my opinion... watching really good players help. just be a keen observer - watch their shift points or shifting, their speed, the line they're taking, their footwork (if you can) - basically how they tackle the course. i actually learned a lot just from watching :-)

thanks for the tip I haven't played in a few months so i will have to see, went to japan and every machine I played on had some ridiculous fast times. Japanese guys watching me play...."dame dameda" LMAO

I got better by watching people play and getting tips from websites about drifting and it's improved my driving tenfold. 👍

@Strife
Turning depends on how sharp the turn is. Sometimes you need to tap the brake while steering and other times you need to let off the gas and tap it a couple of times to turn around it.

@_asuka|Faith
what car do you use? coz if it's not one of the evos, it's still good enough.

@Strife
should you floor it? generally, yes. there are some turns that, as xXKenshiXx said, that you need to just let go of the gas or in some cases step lightly just to maintain speed. should you brake? oh, yes. braking is very essential to take the turns (drift or grip) at the right speed w/o hiting the walls.

just keep on puttin money on this game,day by day u will be the best one!

Everyday i spend heps money on this game,and each time when i back to home, there always painful on both of my arms~

hi guys

i play this game with a Japanese Card in Auckland.

who can tell me what's the last option mean before u start the game?

@_auska|Faith
you can beat your own time, i'm sure of that - just practice, practice, practice! my fastest time is 3:03 w/ an evoIV ^_^

3:03 on irohazaka using an AE86? i'd say he's pretty good...

a good car...? well i'd like to think the evoIII is already a pretty versatile car, good for both battles and time attacks. but if you'd like to try another, i could suggest the Mazda RX-8 and Subaru GDB; both have good startups.

the former, quick recovery from wall hits and good acceleration; tends to understeer, though. but in the hands of experienced driver, it rules (in both dry and wet)!

the latter, also has good acceleration, a little drifty but w/ the grip of a 4WD. for wet conditions, the R32 is top but the Bunta car (GC8V) is also good, and of course generally all 4WD drives (except the R34 - too heavy for its own good despite its acceleration and top speed).

@Aaron Tan
when you start the game, the option on the left is to not accept challengers and the one on the right is to accept challengers, of course. after that it's:
Legend of the Streets
Time Attack
Take the Bunta Challenge!

oh, and please ease up on the successive posting... you can edit your previous post, you know?

@CerberaLM

Yea RX-8 is a damn good car...but i feel racing with it is kinda cheap....u can easily get the lead and its got great acceleration...i dunno...might try an EVO IV or mayb Bunta's car. Do u rekon i should get like an r32....oh and also...how do u drift in the game...like sumtimes i can do it without knowing but most o the time its just powersliding. i saw sum 14yr old kid like full drifting on Tsuc (no idea how to spell it...wont even try ;)..) yea so meh...

@Aaron Tan

LOL. Wot CerberaLM just said, limit ur posts dude. Lol like 4 posts in one day...3 in the span of about 20mins. lol....yea last option...u talkin about the car specs, racer details, car inspection and all that ...er...stuff or wot CerberaLM said?

thank u guys for replying to me:)

but you got misunderstand with my question~ :eek:

my question is that, before u start the game, press continuously "view" button several times. then, there is a option window comes out, the first option u can decide the music type, and the sensitivity of ur steering wheel,the size of ur speedometer.

and i can recognise all ,who can tell me ? 😌

by the way, i am the newer in this forum.but i am the veteran in "Initial D"my record for this game is "31 continuously win" but still i am not the best one in the game hall.

the best car is a RX8,though mine is white EVO_iv

@Aaron Tan

yea....when u press view change at the start....u can set ur car steering, change map display, Forced quit, simple view (cant remember all of it off the top of my head). u can also view ur course times, battle wins, losses and how many races u have raced, time trial codes (thats for the net rankings). u can also view, player name, car, colour, card inspection. yea so thats sum of the stuff on the first menu.....so wots ur question again?

@faith

thank u very much again. 😊

i think i have alreay got the answer for the stupid question.

still, could u plz tell me what's the "forced quit "mean?

is it mean that when u r palying the game and u can quit at anytime instead of waiting the "time's up"? If so,how to do that?both of the view and strat button press together?

by the way, in Auckland there have both English Version and Japanese Ver. and all the players play the japanese one, even though the kiwis :eek:

@Aaron Tan

Yea force quit allows u to exit the game without waiting for the time to run out. u press 'view change' and 'start' simultaneously and it force quits the game. so wot car r u driving?

@faith

i am driving a EVO IV..

i am playing this game everyday.and spending plenty of mpney on it :(

faith

how do u know this forum, why u visit this website often?

do u know another favorite forum? do u want to share with me?

cheers

LOL! :p

yeah the RX-8 does feel a bit cheap... XD

personally i'd choose Bunta's car over an R32 since it's lighter and much more versatile on all courses (my R32 was my first car from way back version 2) but in terms of power and acceleration, if i'm not mistaken, the R32 would win hands down - the R32 has better grip because of it's weight and the GC8V more drifty as it is in real life a rally car.

in Tsuchisaka, all cars regardless of drivetrain tend to drift (yes, even FF cars!) but as for drifting in the game? honestly, i really can't say. sorry... XD but i will keep you posted if i do find out.

we got just a handful of girls who can decently play ID but i haven't seen this "urban legend:" for those who've seen her (yeah a girl! they couldn't remember her card name and what car she's got...), her battle level is 11 - and that was about a month ago. what about now? O_o

@CereberaLm

mmm...a gal that plays initial d and is battle level 11. sounds interesting :P...lol...yea i havnt played initial d 4 like about 2 weeks...alot of stuff has been goin on. and now i gots exams startin this friday...half yearly's for the hsc....im scared ....:P...na but after the exams i will go hard....and get bunta's wrx...:) next time i play it though... im gonna test out a R32 on Iro...should be interesting considering its got a very heavy front...prob understeer at every entrance towards a hairpin...meh.......but yea...ill keep a look out for sum women who play this game :P :)

man you have no idea... driving the R32 on Irohazaka in version 2 was hell; it was like driving a truck! you hit the brakes and just pray that it's enough to make the turn... (thank god that's not the case in version 3- but still a pain to use in iro)

@evo3_man
umm... which corner?

@CereberaLM

LOL..yea im expecting sumthin like that....but still...it should be fun. ill try shifting down twice and then up a gear befor and on the corner entrance....see how fast i can go without hittin the barrier...meh...ill do that next week...right now gotta stuyd...have fun :D

ahhh in v2 in george st sydney i saw 2 chicks versing each other......man i swear they could beat me T_T
one of them had bunta lvl 30 on irohazaka -_- mine was only 12 on iro

another thing

Kenshi when u drive u dont really need to brake dat much on turns, just release the gas pedal and shift down

bro if ur driving on irohazaka, u gotta brake for most of the course, unless ur like some supa freak who can do the course and not brake without hitting the walls......
but besides that, if u dont wanna get a mouthful of wall on a hairpin, brake....
releasing the gear pedal and downshifting decreases ur speed, but in some cases it wont decrease ur speed enough so successfully take the hairpin without hitting the wall bad.......
