Initial D Arcade Stage Ver. 3

yah its been ages, i've just started coming back to JREF..
i got to play IDv3 in japan a few weeks ago! lol, it's not popular at all where i was, so i had the machines to myself. used my Japanese card i got in sydney ages ago, which is an Evo III.. just put some more points on it and had some fun ^_^

just on 'Bunta's comments back there... they sound kinda immature - which i mean in no offence when referring to his description of how to race (i assume on Akina, he doesn't say), because in truth you should shift at the ideal shift points for your car for each gear [do a search on this forum: http://www.initial-d.com/forum.

but 'Bunta's payout of EVOIV's comments about any car being good with a good driver, well they're just immature and stupid, backed up by "try the DC2", which is laughable on IDv3 because the DC2 no longer has the unfair physics thing happening that it had in IDv2.. anyway, the skill make the driver, not the car.

and before anyone just tells me 'challenge him' or 'compare times', i'm not competitive at all - my skill level is far beneath the good players - i just play for fun. maybe one day... *dreams*

ID stuff

i'm in a team... Ü 'sup, y'all?

been playing since ver.2. my main car w/c i transferred from ver.2 is a black option-B BNR32; it's full tuned now. recently i got an option-A Evo4 and a (Mazda) 5-speed option-B Roadster. i still have my ver.2 cars, though - Roadster (same option), option-D Trueno and option-B S-15.

@evoIV: i'm not so sure about what you said that the GDB doesn't handle the corners well but considering the take off, the GDB is pretty good. Subaru cars are 4WD and drift pretty well since most of them are used in rally races.

it really all boils down to skill (my friend used to whoop some racers asses w/ his hachi go in ver.2, and they were pretty good, using an FD, Evo or even a Trueno)

@SkippyDaStudent85: the "money/credits" involved in this game comes in points. you accumulate points, initially to basic tune your car (about 150,000 points) and buy parts e.g. mags, spoiler, hood, etc. all of these, by the way, affect the car's handling slightly or drastically.

@Doom_Star: yes the Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A is a good car. it's home course would be Akagi but it's also good on most courses.

i'm not THE expert but i'll try to answer any questions you might have. there are a lot already in this thread so i don't know where to start ^_^ just post a reply or send me a message.

i'll retrieve all the info i can get from my other forum (shift points, best cars in terms of handling, take off, etc) and post it here.

by the way how do u actually change the gear in manual?

just incase noone else commented this yet the hardest thing is really starting the car in motion which is what would really piss off allota game fans if the game had a real clutch

well to start the carr you have to release the clutch at the same rate you add the gass. it takes work to adjust to the right pedaling and the first time i garuntee you'll kill the engine. i suggest you start by slowly releasing the clutch without the gas and see if you can get the car moving with out killing the engine just to practice the steady foot

to shift gears is easy compared to starting the car. to shift first you push in the clutch then shift the stick. you release the clutch and if your smart you'll double clutch which means you'll add the right amount of gas while removing the clutch pedal. theres alot more to it then words and i learned by driving through a parking lot and learning how to start the car. after that everything else was easy.

O'h and i recently started a new car (MR2 tuning A) in addition to my favorite rx8 and r32 so anyone know the shift points and other need to know things for the MR2 tuning A? or is it all in the initial D forum?

how can u get stuck on akagi??? i can beat keisuke rx7 with a new car. u must be soo rubbish if u cant beat tthat??? 😊

Does anyone know wat cars have 6 gears in intiail d ver 3 :?

RX8 and S2000 i believe.. maybe others as well. a Skyline might, but i don't know which one.

Skyline GTR-BNR34 is the 6 gear skyline
Skyline GTR-BNR32 is the 5 gear skyline
Also Subaru GDB is 6 gears

I play this in U.S. it is still pretty new here...
I have all lancer versions and Mazda rx-7 Spirit R which is my brothers car so I thought I 'd see what rx-7 could do... it is fast dang...
My best card is a yellow lancer evo 7 . my racer level is two and battle is four and I beat Myogi, Usui, and Akagi.
I finally beat K.T. the bastard... we both have yellow cars and it was a good race between me and him... I was at the finish line and he was ahead of me then I drifted into the finish and won by a milisecond whew...currently in Akina...

Hey, any Arcade Stage Ver. 3 fans out there? I just started playing this game recently, but I'm already pretty hooked! The car I'm using right now is the RX-7 Spirit R (FD3S). Right now I'm stuck on Keisuke on Mt. Akagi.... does anyone know of any hint guides? (for v3, not 1 or 2) There is one on gamefaqs.com that has a little info about v3, but I haven't been able to find anything really good yet...
THERE IS NO WAY TO BEAT SOMEONE BY CHEATING YOU JUST HAVE TO BE REALLY GOOD AT DRIFTING. A LITTLE TIP DON'T USE THE BRAKES ANY TIME THAT YOUR GOING ON A TURN AND ALWAYS ENGINE BREAK BEFORE YOU HIT A CORNER.

trueno ae101 formula atlantic engine

hey im new to jref but ive been playing version 3 for a couple of months now and was unsure whether you can get the racing engine upgrade for the trueno....im guessing it would be in A Tune ...ive seen it on other forums but never found a definite answer.

oh yeah....awesome game aswell :-)
ae86 trueno gt-apex
A Tune
watanabe rs rims
cibie foglights
finished myougi and most of usui

im stuck choosing between rx-7 spirit r, r32 tune, s14, or the impreza gc8 =/

car rankings

@brodiepearce
if i'm not mistaken all options (except Normal) will eventually get the racing engine by the time basic tuning is complete (150,000 points).

@Noodlez
i suggest you go with the R32 or RX-7; i prefer the former, though since it's a 4WD so you're relatively "safe" in wet conditions.

@IoRi
well drifting is actually only one aspect of the game.

generally, just keep it "clean" (don't hit the walls). not all turns can be taken just by releasing the gas. use the brakes; they didn't put them there for nothing. when you have the "feel" of your car, maintain a racing line for faster times.

and here's the list of cars as ranked by performance:

Mad Skillz

The thing about racing... whether in Initial D or in any other racing game... is the actual skill of the driver.... like they said before. I have a Mazda RX-7 Type R (FD3S) and I've defeated lots... I mean LOTS of people with an RX-8, Cappucinos and lots of EVO IV. It all depends on the skill.... hence since right now I am one of the best drivers around the mall in which I play. The team in which I belong is called Team Foxhound. The RX-7 is called Fox.1 . And I am beginning to get really bored of actually racing the same people over and over again.... They think that by raising the points of the car they can beat me. 👍

that's a given. the list i posted applies to those who have it. (hehehe)

btw, disregard the numbers on some of the cars - i didn't notice them when i edited what i posted.

Anybody got any suggestions for the Keisuke style FD A tuned. I am having alot of issues with wheel locking and understeer.
Mazdaspeed wheels black
Mazdaspeed hood aero
Not sure of the wing the big Kite looking wing
Not sure of the exhaust either i think it's the original atuned exhaust.
I can't seem to get pass 2'49" on tsuchihazaka inbound. grrr the first corner you decelerate on i should be exiting around 138 but i can't seem to get the car stable enough to exit at that speed the car starts just slide around like it's on ice very irritating.

Whats the best all around car in version 2

the DC2 (Integra Type-R), if you wanna be cheap about it... sucks on usui, though. if you'd just take time to read the first pages (or search on the 'net as well), you wouldn't even be asking that. :eek:

@Damicci
i haven't tried using an FD yet but my friends who use it say that they also have those issues with the car - yes, even if it's already full-tuned. what i see them do is use the brakes, real hard at times, just to get through the turn without hitting the wall; the FD accelerates pretty fast, anyway. as for tsuchisaka... i can only suggest giving the brakes a stab (or a bit longer), grind the apex so you won't hit the wall with car's rear and use the weight of the FD to drift. hope that helps. ^^
