Not that Japanese people themselves are ever to blame by encouraging their mates to be superficial, right ?It's media that creates the 1st group within there lies the problem. You hardly see the avg Japanese women in media it's only what is appealing that is mostly shown. We mind as well group them into the superficial category because it's basically the same principal.
Elizabeth said:Not that Japanese people themselves are ever to blame by encouraging their mates to be superficial, right ?Well, Damicci's girlfriend my be different... I only know in my case, he can be a little too encouraging of my cute and funny side, not that I'm usually very tempted to try to resist it either....
. The serious and childlike sides to him usually balance out pretty well.

Besides these extreme cases, though, I think can be really difficult to define 'superficial' in relation to the Japanese....sometimes it appears like almost everything they do is that way and sometimes their whole way of being is a genuine concern and desire for friendship. I don't know, just that its a losing battle to analyze it too much in this thread.Damicci said:I don't think whether it IS Japan's fault or not is the factor. It's more or less believing what you see. We encourage are people to be superficial too. And every japanese person that wants to date a foreigner b/c of some movie is just as guilty of it as all these hot in pants guys wanting some "submissive, child looking asian woman" I am not saying that is the case for all guys but I am sure that is a large reason why japanese women are "in demand". I have been with my girl for 4 years now. I invented the "asian chic craze" lol j/k

oh you beat me to it. i was going to say the exact same thingGlenn said:Don't worry. Women do the same thing with men.
well, your friends obviously haven't met meHomicidalMouse said:Women think men are b*st*rds. I know this cus i was eating lunch yesterday with some friends, minding my own business and one of the girls suddenly turned to me and said "all you men are b*st*rds", and the other girls agreed
Glenn said:Yes, actually. I've heard women talk about men the same way that men talk about women. It's a meat market either way.
Damicci said:You know what Duo, You are the ****! I didn't even think about that. That is a very good point. Which is why I say this topic is not a really good item for discussion. I honestly believe the 1st group will eventually see the light and grow into the 2nd group. It's media that creates the 1st group within there lies the problem. You hardly see the avg Japanese women in media it's only what is appealing that is mostly shown. We mind as well group them into the superficial category because it's basically the same principal.
