I found out about him by L'arc~en~Ciel where he is the frontman. But he writes almost all the lyrics and composed some songs for L'arc too. Check out L'arc, it's one of the best band out there. For me, i always prefer his music with L'arc than his solo stuff.
For his solo, try "Roentgen" (japanese version) if you like soft ballads. Faith and 666 are all hard rocks.
my picks?
From Roentgen, try "shallow sleep, secret letters(jap version), evergreen (rock version), Oasis (one of the best song)". One thing about Roentgen is that the lyrics are absolutely beautiful, so they are worth well to look at.
From 666, check out "hello" pv. He looks absolutely hot in it. "horizon" is my favourite in the whole ablum. "Words of love", "midnight celebration", "masquerade" are all fun songs to do head banging, not to mention that his voice is the sex.
In my opinion, Faith is a better album than 666 and more polished. My picks are Mission, faith, it's sad and season's call. Countdown is an awesome song too.
Oh yeah!! "made in heaven" has coolest lyrics

Oo really? I don't know, I actually like the english version of Secret letters more...xD dunno why exactly but....when for the first time I heard the japanese version (already knowing the engl) I was like: woah that sounds completely different from the english...O___o" but I like the english more... but thanks god he sings that absolutely amazing last refrain in english in the jap. version too^^ I love it how he varies his voice when he sings the second "I remembe~~~r sti~~~ll close to you~~" (omg that looks strange x///D")
but don't think I prefer j-rockers singing in english in general...!
haido's voice is PERFECT anyway whether singing or talking in ANY language...!! it's just that....when hyde sings english he has such an unbelievable cuuuuuute pronounciation...!!!!
therefore I love him singing and speaking english^^ you're soooo right! one of my favs

i heard that rumor too but its not true that rumor was started a while back and some one had said that megumi was cheating on hyde (or somthing like that) and that hyde was going to get a divorce but nope not true hyde and megumi are still together and love each other very much

that's why exatly and the only thing we have to go on is rumers and mostly everything we read on hyde is a rumer no mater if it states it or not. i was reading his profile and on the offical site and its states that the name (hideto takarai) and the birthday (January 29, 1969) are rumered and most sites dont say that
