90% of the people on this forum probably knows this already, but for those of you that don't I thought I would write a short guide on how to get a nice font for Japanese on the web. I only know how to do this for Internet Explorer but I'm sure it can be done in a similar way with any browser.
Download (if you don't have a nice font already) flodata.se/fonts/jfont.ttf
and copy it to c:\windows\fonts (or wherever you have your fonts folder)
1. Start Internet Explorer
2. Select Tools/Internet Options
3. Click the button "Fonts"
4. Select Language script: Japanese
5. Select PMT Hoso Mincho in the left list
Voila!
Check out these pictures to see the difference: (I hope it is alright that I borrowed your post Elisabeth, if not just tell me and I'll change)
