Gookangohan had better remember that graduating Yoyogi anime gakuin won't give you any guarantee to become a professional. The school might be useful to improve the skills, but it's also infamous among otakus for exploiting innocent aspiring animators with false advertising.

Now if I keep thinking like that I wont get far at all I know I have "Proffesional" skill, I've been improving my drawing skill before I can remember, and I'm not gonna let something like that bring me down ☝ Even if I went to an art school down the street I'm not guranteed a job, so I want to attend Yoyogi to highten my chances of getting a job there, and obtaining my dream of being a better and sucessful manga-ka. and to tell you the truth i'm not just some rambling otaku, yeah I started out in 9th grade being a anime loser, but so do most americans who Japan. I just enjoy drawing is all. I've wanted to draw since I was little, copying disney cartoons and drawing doodles. Anime is just what I prefer to draw over all. but to tell you the truth, over a year ago I was an anime freak, and now I havnt sat down to watch a series of anime in over a years time. I have piles and piles of burnt CD's and DVD's sitting in my room, of popular animes I've never seen, in full seasons none the less! Like Naruto, One Peice, Lain etc. :? Ive been so busy with my Japanese its crazy I've entered lots of contests, made a difference in the Japan Bowl/ speech comepetiotion for the whole state of Florida, vonlunteered in Japanese Festivals, Won Japanese Arts craft awards (no anime), 2 trophies in Japanese Speech, joined the Japanese Honor Society, Hosted Japanese students and more! I've been so busy, even if I wanted to sit down and watch 20 episodes of Naruto I wouldnt have the 2-3 days to watch it. I feel that I have the skill to get to the top, I'm sorry I'm not being modest, but if I dont think my skill is head strong, I wont get anywhere...Wish me luck!

There is defently good money to be made as a engilsh teacher in Japan... I think so anyway, if you can find somewhere cheap to stay (This is a bit of an oxymoron) you can save all you make from teaching and save it for ur uni fund!

I understand your desire to become a manga-ka and agree with someone on this thread who said Yoyogi Anime Gakuin does not provide what you hope to achieve. I think most of the successful manga-ka in Japan either graduated from "normal(?)" universities or art schools. After graduation, they try to become apprentice to some famous manga-ka or go straight to enter manga-ka contests held annually by Japanese manga publishing houses.

If you have problems writing Japanese script, a possibility will be to team up with a Japanese speaker with a flair for scriptwriting to write in the lines for you. (I don't know whether this will work, but you can try.)

If you want so much to come to Japan, you may enter a school like Yoyogi Anime and then hunt down apprentice jobs (which you may have to accept at measly wages). Also, try the contests in the meantime.

It's just my personal opinion--remember the competition is fierce.

Thats why I like Yoyogi, if you want to study manga, they set you up with a real manga-ka to be their assistent and help them out and such. Theyre always trying to help their students get one foot in the door ﾋ?

hey I am new, I too wanted to be a Manga-ka and wanted to go study at Tokyo Anmation school! What got me started on Japan was meeting my bestfriend a few years ago. I just got interested, started off with Jpop, lusting over j-guys etc. haha
