A big favourite of mine is Nobukazu Takemura. His stuff is pretty varied, but mostly I'd say he writes ambient electronica kind of simliar to Autechre or Four Tet but umm, cuter. He's been getting a little attention here in England over a remix that appeared on an Aphex Twin album recently, but he's been making music for ages, and is really very good.
👍
Someone else I listen to a lot, although I'm not sure if it counts as electronic music, is Merzbow. Merzbow's kind of hard to describe, and definitely an aquired taste, but he writes music (sound) without rhythm, melody, beat, or instruments as most people would think of them. He's said that he wanted to find the "secret voice" of things, and control it through sheer force. This means most of his stuff sounds like someone being stabbed, vocordered. I guess you could describe it as cathartic.
;)

I really like Daisuke Asakura....he was in charge of a lot of the music for Gravitation...and is a member of the groups or was a member of ICEMAN and is still a member of Access(AXS) both of which are technoish

no no no jpophelp.com has bad service, trust me i almost sue them just to get a refund (long story), they lag, they dont reply emails, they dont answer phone calls bad bad >_< i know u dont wanna go through all that drama.. in the end i got my money back in like 3 mos. later except the shipping charges gRRR. dont believe me? ill link u to the jpopmusic forum that i frequently visit and people discussing about jpophelp's bad service.

and oh yeh its cdjapan.co.jp.. not cdjapan.com... and um.. yesasia.com is my #1 source

amazing...I've never had a massive problem with them...wait I know why that is...I've never ordered anything from them. www.yesasia.com has pretty good service and if you can find it at www.animecastle.com they're outstanding when it comes to service...but of course it's mostly anime and select J-pop/rock CDs...I ordered one from www.tofurecords.com they're still fairly new yet by the looks of it....but I got my TM Revolution Cd in no time and they're actually going to be getting some good stuff, good pricing as well

cdjapan has prices like the stores at least
yesasia is kind of expensive (to me)
but then again, i am the kind of shopper who buys according to price, then pocket, then want

I do the same....I'll price match a CD on all of the sites I can think of and go with the one that has the best shipping rates and what I'm looking for....

ive always thought cdjapan is more expensive than yesasia.. better than getting it from kinokuya bookstore, >_< they sell most likely $30-40 per cd, yikes!

oh yeh, animecastle is good too, only bec. they sell anime OSTs cheap like the amount of a regular cd in the US $12-17, but they dont sell jrnb there :p

cdjapan's shipping is pretty high. I'd order fm yesasia.com because usually when you add up the shipping + price of product it comes out cheaper.

and might as well start talking about raves and concerts too?
while over there, found cornelius fantasma (1050) and 6996 (850)
both are pretty good (as expected)
