What's new

Do you write poems or songs?

I write sometimes, but whether its poetry or something else is left up to the individual who wants to read it, I recently wrote a poem about mums and there loveless relationships with there children etc, but it turned into a joke as I advanced onto what reality of motherhood, my two children thought this was hilarious when I read it back to them, cause it was truthful, honest and to the point of emotional im-balance hahaha, 😌
I"l find it tomorrow and add it to the authors who have been bold enough to print their words here for all of us to see.🙂

hehe... I sometimes just get carried away and add in things that don't really belong to the theme I'm writing about... ^^; now that I think of it... some of my poems sound really weird...

I try to write country songs. You know the type that can take your away or just rip your heart out when you hear them. Some day I hope to hear one of my songs on the radio, but I don't think I'm that good. I also write short stories.

Same here partner. One of these days when I'm courageous enough I'll post one of my country songs here.

😄

I like writing poems. I haven't written in a while but every time I do they end up being sad or really really mean. It always shocks me when I read back over them because usually I have a bubbly , happy mood. They might be influenced by what I listen to ; I don't listen to the happiest music.LOL

I haven't written for awhile either... I don't really know what to write sometimes...

Golgo 13 you're cool in my book! Good luck with your songs! I'm working on a song right now and when I finish it I will post it here.

Here's to good songs, poems, and stories! :)

Justin,

Here's an example of the kind of country songs I've written. I need someone to write the music for it. This is especially a sad one :( and I have more up-lifting ones but I have this saved on the computer right now:

"Because I Was With You" ツゥ
Golgo Thirteen

I don't hardly
Ever see you around
Since you got married and
Moved to the other side of town
But whenever I do hear
'Bout how you are
I feel happy for you
And that's coming from my heart

Forgot how long it's been
Since you said we're through
I guess it's a sign
That I've gotten over you
There's someone new in my life
Who's a dream come true
And never have I caught myself
Comparing her to you . . . but

CHORUS:
Because I was with you
I learned how to love a woman right
When to give her space
And when to hold her tight
I don't make the mistakes
I made before I met you
I'm happy with someone else today
Because I was with you

I cried so hard
My eyes could barely see
When you said it's over
Despite my plea
Didn't help none to tell me
I'll be better off without you
That it had nothing to do with me
But everything to do with you

When the crying stopped
While still in a daze
I wrote the times we had off
As a complete waste
Not knowing what I'd learned
By loving you then
Had made me a better man
In loving a woman again

REPEAT CHORUS

Okay, now don't anybody even think of plagiarizing all right?

That is a great one Golgo 13! The lyrics have feeling to them and many people can relate to it. Great job!

That song would be great sung by Brooks n Dunn, Travis Trit, or Clay Walker.

Great Job! :)

yeah, it's a great one, Golgo_13!! ^^ ~~ ah... I could not write like that... x.x

Justin,

I didn't write this myself but it's one of my all-time favorite songs.

"Alabama Rain"
written and performed by Jim Croce

Lazy days in mid-July
Country Sunday Mornin'
Dusty haze on summer highway
Sweet magnolia callin'

Chorus:
Now and then I find myself
Thinking of the days
When we were walkin'
In the Alabama rain

Drive-in movies Friday nights
Drinkin' beer and laughing
Somehow things were always right
Just don't know what happened

Repeat Chorus

We were only kids but then
I never heard it said
That kids can't fall in love and feel the same
I can still remember the first time
I told you "I love you"

On that dusty mid-July
A country summer's evenin'
A weeping willow sang its lullaby
And shared our secret

Repeat Chorus

nice song... ^^

If you can download songs, listen to it. I think you might like it.

Jim Croce (pronounced "Crow chee") is another one of those singers who, at the height of their careers, died untimely from an aircrash.

that's great!! I think poems are easier then lyrics... *preffers to sing finnished songs*

Golgo_13 - that's so sad... eto... I'll see... ^^

I have been writing poems since I've been in the 7th grade. But, I mainly write when I'm feeling blue. I don't believe I'm not that good just yet, but I write sometime what I'm feeling or just for fun. It would be great to read some people work of art. Post some and share with others. Here is one of mine. I posted this one on poetry.com.

When the seas of broken dreams
Cast its shadows upon my humble deeds
I look no further
Where you dance upon a feather of clouds
Surrounded by helpless souls weeping tears
Of gold
A waiting your words of passionate
Wisdom
Wow, I said
For thy eyes of sorrow
Soon filled with eyes of tears
For thy heart felt ye fire which burns
From within
Ayumi, I said
I love you
I said
Like a sister, I said
Stronger like no other I said
Walk with me, I said
Through that valley of sensation
Amongst the butterflies
Which thrives thy belly
When I窶冦 with you
For we are two of a kind
Sharing common grounds
And emotional distresses
But now you are gone
Lost in the mist of fog
That swept in through the night
Taking you beneath the gravel
Which we emerged

For many of night your voice haunted me
My dreams taunt me with your beauty
As you waltz through the pearl gates of heaven
Waving your last good-bye

But still I feel your present
That stands before me
Whispering in my ears that you're
Always be by my side
Day and Night
Night and Day

that was nice!! ^^ I can't write that great... eapecially not that long!!

know what? I started writting in Grade 7 too... ^^!

Thanks Mayura!! Glad that you like my poem. It's not everyday that I can write like that. I haven't written anything in like a month now due to my job. I'm in the navy and I get stressed out a lot, and tired from work, but I haven't let my work interfer with what I love to do which is write. I'm in Japan now, but back at home I have over 30 poems placed in a box. When I return I plan on gathering them all together and proof read them and try to get my own book of poerty made.

Here is another poem I wrote sometime ago.

Once in your life you were confused
And missed used by other
It seemed you knew what you wanted
But in reality your hopes for that special
Someone was undetermined
Hurt and trusting all you knew
When they were wrong
You had no real idol that could lead
You in the right direction
You were on that road to destruction

There I was in the mist of the dark
Scared of falling in love again in
A new land
Yes, I was afraid
My heart has been broken plenty
Of times just like yours
As I sit here enclosed in this cubical
My mind starts to repent on my past
Like the memory bank of a PC
Gawd, the pain and the madness that
Pelages me
I asked myself would I ever find my true love
Then I found you

Alone by your lonesome self
In a corner under dim lights
I stared
I could not believe my eyes
So perfect
So sweet
So loving
And so caring
I could tell from your looks
You were kind of nerves and frighten
I could also tell you were looking for an honest guy
Who would treat you like a woman
Making that move to drown you with my kindness
Now look at us
So in love

I am so glad that I found you
I am so glad to be loved by you
I am so glad that our love will never die
My love for you is stronger than the
Gravitational pull of all the planets and stars combined

Hmm..nicely done.
All freestyle poetry right?
No technique?

As for me, I write raps, and make em poetic.
I write poetry as well. In Dutch and English.
I also do a lot of linguistic research to come up with
'old words' and construct new words that sound just
like what they mean.

Everyone understands them, though they are new.
Funny.

My poetry used to be all freestyle, but as of late I'm
bugging myself to harness technique-though it's of my
own devising.

I have a lot of admiration for Shakespeare, Milton,
Wilde, Basho and a lot of ancient Haiku and Renga
writers as well as for modern Jpop artists.

Some day I hope to fuse Japanese literal styles
and ancient Saxon styles....*sighs*

Yes, all of my poetry are freestyle. I do not use any other materials in my writing. I try to use different events that has occured in my life, or what's happening in our world today. Most of the time I just sit and start writing without thinking what I'm writing about.

I write more like sayings and stuff... but here ill post some of the stuff I put in my AIM profile :

"Time"

So fast we cannot see it, the only thing that can make change.
We feel it pass by, like a winter breeze ; a cold reminder at how another year went by.
We wish it went slower, we wish we hadn't wasted it, we wish we had more

But I wish... I wish I could spend it all with someone, someone who feels...

That their time should end.

"Darkness"

In this cold world, I seek warmth through a cold, gray rainy day.
I look up into the sky, seeing the sadness we're all enduring in ourselves.
We try to change, but is it what really makes us happy?
I feel like i've lost it all.
I'm drowning in a sea of old memories that keeps me going on, searching for the answers...
Set me free, from these iron chains, they call unhappiness.

You have the key, the key that will set me free.

"Sky"

Its... so nice.. to watch the clouds slowly pass us by...

Contemplating how we all get through problems...

with that warmness we all get under the summer sun...

everything just seems to fade away...

most of this has like a dark, "changy" feeling to it hahahah maybe cuz i hate my house >.< share more its all good!
