LOL, I've slept on top of trucks, and even on top of generators to keep warm! :D In a sling seat on a C-141...definitly some strange places!

HA! I've slept on bales of rags in shipboard storerooms, desks, hangers, once even in a gun mount! So I know about strange places!
:D

I slept in a tree one night because some dogs chased me to it and nobody came looking for me. Long story but it was a rough night.

When I was in the military we had a long and exhausting military exercise.
The last day we had to put on a show for the colonel and som other military dudes.
I was soooo tired, so tired, I stood up by a machinegun on a high tripod, and I was sleeping, standing up.
The colonel walked by and gave me a good pat on my back and said that I did good being so vigilant and alert. The other of my troop was resting and talking... he he,,, :D

lol :D I guess you were wearing sunglasses so he didn't see you were sleeping?

I dislike futons really.

They seemed really uncomfortable too me. When I sleep I toss and turn alot, especially in summer when its hot. Nothing worse than tossing over too hard and smacking your knee into the floor because your 'matress' is only two inches of foam.

When I moved to the gaijin house the manager offered a futon or western matress. I JUMPED at the western matress. AHHH springs...

Futons were a number one necessity in college next to the liquor store. You could invite friends over and play games. It serves as a desk, a cushion, and even 😌 😊 😌 well you get the point. But even though i don't have one anymore. It was tight i liked it. but i would never sleep on one regularly.... 😌

I mostly sleep in my nice bed with a hard matras. Hmmm, but I allways need two pillows :).... spoiled kid...

I am now officially a futon man. Heh. The bottom broke out of my bed (Not the first time.. Heh.) So I took advantage of the opportunity and moved the frame out of my room (To prevent it from someone trying to fix it again, for it only to break out at the most inconvient of times.. Heh.) So now I am pretty much sleeping on a futon (I guess it is my mattress, but basically the same thing as a futon) I used to not have a bed and when I finally got one I didn't welcome it with open arms.. Heh. It's back to the floor for me and I must say I am quite content with it.. Heh.

I wouldn't exactly call that the same thing...You are still supported by springs, much like sleeping on the bed still. On a futon you are only supported by the floor. But your view is the same! :D

That's why I said I sort of am.. Heh. Oh well, don't rain on my parade, it's a futon I tell you! Heh.

It doesn't really matter to me what I sleep on.
I slept in trucks, cars, floors, beds, tarps, carpets, grass, concrete.
Beds and futons are more comfortable.
But I dont use even a medium sized pillow

I don't sleep on a futon, as I like my own big bed!!! :D I do often sleep on futon on the floor when I am visiting friends and family in Japan, and I don't have any problems with it....I just like beds and mattresses better... :-)

Isn't a Futon a sofa/couch with a pull-out bed?

If so: NO!! I like my beddo! Of course, I have tried the traditional Japanese blanket and pillow on the tatami. The tatami was comfortable, but, um, I don't like sleeping on a flat object! Especially one that hardly represents Newton's 3rd Law!

Hi All,
I have a question for those of you who do sleep on a futon. I understand they are made to fold up and put away during the day. The question I have is this: how do you fold up a full size futon? I would like very much to get one (back problems) but my wife wont let me have one unless it is full size. Thanks for any responses :-)
