Do you sleep on a futon?

I sleep on a futon bed! The posts and bottom part are similar to a regular bed. But the top part is a futon. It is great!

I sleep on a futon bunkbed and it's so pleasent to sleep on it. The bottom bunk (the one I sleep on) it's like a thick giant squishy pillow. thats so soft. Mmmmmm Oh it also folds up into a couch too!

I hate waterbeds!!!!Me ex-girlfriend had one....and I always ended up on a bump ....and I don't like to sleep moving constantly...give me a solid BED...or futon(never tried though) but I can sleep anywhere(exept waterbed)

I sleep on a standard matteress sitting straight on the floor with a quilt... im lazy

Had a futon for a year and it rocked, sleeping low down is the way to go

My wife and I sleep on a queen size matress on the floor. That's what we prefer and is comfortable. I like sleeping low on the floor and my wife too.

I never tryed to sleep in futon, but I would love too. I also never slept low on the floor (except when went camping ). Don't know how it feels.

I have a nice big thick one on the floor for about 6 months. I love it. Since I have a bedroom no need to put it away. I have even talked two friends into getting their own. One lives in a tiny apartment and really likes having it.

That's true but not always. Depends on the family and house.

The great thing about using Futon in the U.S. is that you don't have to fold them each morning and throw them in the "Oshiire". And take them back out at night.

Japanese futon's are great! They can be put away easily. I just don't like the upkeep. You have to put them out and beat the crap outa them. And since my gf and I work. We never have time to do that. Maybe once a month.

Hey guys. We are gonna remodel my room soon, and I was thinking of putting in tatami and a futon in one section. What are the differences between a summer and winter futon though? I live in New England where the summer is hot and the winter is really cold, so would I need 2 types of futons? (i do like sleeping when it's cold, so would a summer futon just do for the whole year?)

There's nothing wrong with that. Sounds about right but we use a queen-sized matress now on the floor and we both prefer that.

Yes, I've seen a report once about a Navy ship. They also showed the sleeping places there - looked pretty much uncomfortable
I don't like being on a ship in the first place (I don't get seasick or something, but I don't like it), and sleeping in such a thing - hell no!

Yeah, being on a Navy ship ain't The Love Boat, this I know from first hand experience.

Besides the thin mattresses, berthing compartments are pretty cramped on all but the largest ships, bunks are three high and you have precious little space for personal effects, showers are communal and privacy almost nonexistent.

And that's the lap of luxury compared to submarines where space is at even more of a premium, reserved for equipment and weaponry. Hell, it's not uncommon for crewmen to sleep directly over torpedoes!!!

Bottom line, the Navy life isn't for everyone!

Well, I've slept on futons many times, and I enjoyed it. I actually slept quite well. But right now I have a king size bed! If I can keep all three of the kids out, I have a lot of space! We keep three futons put away for company. Every now and then when my back hurts I'll break one out and sleep on the floor. After 12 years in the military, I can sleep anywhere....and yes Jeff I've slept on ships too. Futons are much better than ships!

Yeah, when you're in the service, you do learn to get your sleep whenever and wherever you can, and that's included on bare decks while onboard ships! Hardly the most comfortable experience known to man, but I've lived with it!
