aww, it's ok... i'm not entierly sure myself really ^^; but i think we're discussing reasins as to why people are 'gay' or whaterver.... i'm just responding to whatever people say........

i think the thing that's so hott about fanservice is that they are ral guys.... who aren't gay... nor are they bi.... that's what makes it so hott

my viewpoint: there are types of relationship boy/boy girl/girl, which do not relate to "LGB".

indeed, a man who plays the superhero for a group of woman: labelled as "wussie". girls are not "exclusively" looking for such guys, i have read that.

because...try to understand it yourself.

j-pop entertains- most likely in japan.

'wussie' comment... hmmm... you ,mean shy timid girls? in general they probably really don;t whant strog buch guys... i mean.... they're be dominating and scarey.... they'd probably want someone less 'big' because if they're insucure in their lives... they're probably insucure because they feel so intimidated by a lot of people, so why would they whant an imtimidating boyfriend....
the whole 'superhearo' thing is more for girls who can, in general, hold their own... but they whant to have a dominating boyfriend... like... they're willing to take a conformist roll of being 'below' the guy they date... and let him sustain the family.... *grrs at them*

i don;t know... i'm general ising again... i don't understand girls any more than i do boys... and now one person ids a like, so i neer could understand all girls and all boys....

ya more to say, difficult for guy to fulfil "superhero" requirement.

and, i do not c the label "ghey" and so on belong to j-pop/anime.

"yaoi" does not read as a 1:1 translation to me...

more direct: hentai describes the entertainment contains direct nudity, additional qualifier.

do not see what it has to to with gender.

japanese allows these anime to exist into different folder.

well... no, no-one's saying gay belongs to jpop/anime... it most certanly doesn't.....

and yes, yaoi refers spacifically to the hentai comics that show guy/guy stuff, yuri refers spcifically to girl/girl, tho it mean's 'lilly' it came from a lesbian tribe that used to live in japan.
yaoi... i can't remeber it;s origens... but it is a general term now used to describe guy/guy stuff that's around in japan... which is generaly fanservice and manga/anime

.... so it does spacifically relate to 'guys'

japanese allows these anime to exist into different folder.

no need to appologise for that... the topic is in the 'manga/anime' section...
but we're inevitbly going to bring up fanservice because the question is 'why is it sexy'

for me, it appears as "shonen-ai"/"yaoi".

well... invevitabley if you're in a relationship you're gunna get jelious if the person you're with wants someone else.... no matter who they are.

also... the reason why it is so great with jrockers... is because they're steight..... the fact that they don't date guys.... but are still willing to do that on stage... *dies*
you don't have to be gay/bi to ba attracted to the same sex.... nor to express gesters of effection such as kissing.... it's only if you want to make something out of it....
if a guy want to kiss a guy, it doesn't make him gay. if a guy wants to hold a relationship on intermate terms with another guy... then he's gay, or bi.

these stories are about gay/bi relationships... but i think what makes them appealing is because they debate everything, and you see the characters grow to love eachother, despite the fact they're the same gender... you don't find many shonen-ai where two characters start off being officially gay.... which is why it's so nice to read... because you can geel like you go through the emotions whith the characters ^.^

ok... i'm not sure if any of that mad any sence what so ever... but.... i did my best ^^;

i think with shonen-ai... there's a lot of room for some great comedy... same with shojo-ai but it's often not done so tastefully >.<

and yes... straight does mean all that.... but... i think it's a load of bull... there is no 'right' and no 'wrong'. we've evolved to think for our selves... not have the 'laws of nature' or god or what ever do the thinking for us. it's up to us to decided what's right and wats wrong and live as closely by it as we can.... yes, somepeople do have bad ideas about what's truley right.... but then.... maybe we're the one's how are 'wrong'.... i could get into a whole debate about that, but i'm not going to because there would be no point.

it doensn't matter if you're streight... i'd kinda figgered.... i'm bi... big whoop.... i'm still a fridge, it makes no difference.

it's true.... come people do shove random gay relationships into a story for either comic relife or for the pur sex appeal... and it really buggs me sometimes... but other times it can be done really well... just as the hetro stuff can be hammy or really cute

I always felt (from my point of view only, so no flame from anyone please!) it was kind of ironic gay = extremely happy... because I have quite a number of friends who are gay and they without exception have always problems in their relationships, most of the time. None of them found happy relationship yet, and they all have been through such bad times... But all my gay friends are male, so perhaps for girls it's different... not that you can generalise, of course... I'm digging myself deeper into it here, I can tell.......... and that's not even what I'm here for... I'll shut up right now!

But, definitely the yaoi/shounen-ai debate isn't about 'gay' or 'straight' anyways...

yeah... it's suposed to be kinda ironic.... it a name givin as a steriotype... because the steriotype of a 'camp' person is that they're always happy.... and of cause, everyone who's gay is camp..... *mumbles*
it anoys me how some people don;t even know that it means happy tho... and think it actually means 'lame'...... it came to mean lame through social bigotism and it really buggs me when people don't understand that.

yeah.... it can really suck for a lot of people.... i mean... i'm not even gay and i get a lot of crap from people who always think other wise..... like my choir for example....

I agree; the thing is; I'm not really attracted to gay, homosexual guys - that would be.. boring, since I'd be getting no attention, ne? XD Anyways, the thing with shonen-ai or (yaoi) or fanservice - especially fanservice, is that; the guys mostly aren't gay - they're straight, they only do this boyxboy stuff cause.. they're... confused/horny/aware of what fangirls want.. Agree, agree. Shonen ai is sort of... well, might sound stupid, but whenever I read or watch shonen ai - I never think about what sort of a sexual orientation the characters would have, if they're straight or gay or whatever... With shonen ai I concentrate more on the actual characters and their emotions/problems/stories/relationships.. it doesn't matter what they are (sexually)... as long as the plot is good... (and*cough*Icangettoseesomehotaction*cough*) XDDD

appart from.... (i'm generalising, bu it is the case in my experiance) when ever any guy i know hears that my friends gay, they're automatically go 'omigod is she hott? i bet she's hott... have you guys mad out'
