Me too! When were you there?HIYA!!
I have noticed there are a lot of US members, and have been wondering WHERE in the US you live???
I am VERY interested in the United States and have lived in New York and San Francisco...........Both cool places!!!![]()
San Francisco Bay Area ... northern California
Oh! I've got a friend from there. Then do you say "hella" when speaking informally ? Like..."It's hella hard."
I'm living in Somerville, near boston at the moment, but it's hard to understand the locals sometimes...
Bostonians are well known for their accent. And, so are many New Englanders. Native New Yorkers have their accent (Brooklyn accent, if I remember correctly), too.Why can't you? Do they have strong local accent?
Then who,I mean what people from what states speak the standard American English, does anyone know ?
ricecake,Standard American English is taught at US schools nationwide, hopefully we have credentially qualified teachers up to the task.
My observation and unscientific analysis,America's English spoken in deep South is Americanized British-English.Particular local English language in New England region probably closer to old standard English.
