Why did the squirrel cross the road?

there's some ants standing a line. one in front of another, and so forth.
the first ant says, "there's two ants standing behind me." the second ant says, "there's one ant standing behind me". the third ant says, "there's five ants standing behind me". How is that possible?

first heard this joke from a friend. it was so lame that he got hit in the head. ;-)
