Could you help me by giving me some information about the voting system in general in your country?


I recently have read articles about Japanese election monitoring groups in several developing countries including East Timor. And I saw ballots being counted at the polling stations in some countries. It was a surprise a little for me.

So, I tried to make sure the following questions.

In what countries are votes always counted at the relevant polling stations, in what countries are votes mostly counted at some major polling stations and in what countries are votes counted at the specific ballot-counting stations?

Next Sunday, Japan has critical national elections. I would like to collect as much information as possible and as soon as possible, too.

In Japan, some people say that the counting process is reliable because the ballot box and the key of the ballot box are transported by different election staff and in different vehicles.

But I think that the election system becomes all the more unreliable because there can be some tricks during the transportation. There are often master keys and spare keys. The ballot box may be transported in a vehicle with one or two persons. The ballot box can be replaced with another one. Or, the vehicle itself can be replaced with another vehicle.

Nowadays, critics are openly criticizing the tricks in the Japanese ballot system. It is unusual.

Ok here is what we do with ballot boxes. The actual ballot box is sent already sealed to each polling station. When the time limit for voting has expired all ballot boxes are sent to the counting center, with the seals intact. It is at the counting center that the seals are broken by an offical and the ballots are counted. If any ballot box returns to the counting center and the seal is in any way damaged or is missing or broken, then the contents of that ballot box are null and void and will not be counted.

In the UK any interference with any ballot box or any election is a criminal offence punishable by a jail sentence or a large fine. It is very rare to come across any interference in any type of election in the UK.

The more reliable the people are, the simpler the voting system can be.

But, although we implement the similar system in Japan on the face of it, the system doesn't work well like your country, because Japanese are generally reliable but Japanese who are in charge of important jobs are often corrupt.

There are more problematic cases in Japan. Let me talk later.

Here in Brazil we don't have ballot counting since we use electronic voting (Unbelievable for a 3rd world country).

The problem here is that people actually don't know how to vote, they always vote on corrupted politicians because most population don't have access to education.

See our actual president, Lula. I hate this guy and most of the educated brazilians too.

I know Brazilian politics a little.

But I really would like you to look back at the world history.

Education is a way toward happiness. But it is not the only way toward happiness. Sometimes poverty and ignorance can be the way toward happiness.

There is no pleasure without pain.

During WWII, many innocent people were killed. Well-educated people killed ordinary people. Since the end of WWII, we have heard several genocides. Yet I believe that well-educated vicious people have manipulated innocent ignorant people into perpetrating genocide against other innocent ignorant people.

There are some conspiracies there.

Ignorance is never a shame. Vicious nature and vicious act are the shame.

On this point, Japanese are never people who deserve to be respected.

It is my true feeling.

Japan has the ability to introduce electronic voting system. But I'm afraid that voting fraud will be further spread under the system.

In the lottery draw, electronic system has been introduced in Japan. But some people argue that the draws are rigged. Electronic system itself is manipulated. To tell the truth, jackpot winners are often politicians' relatives, bar owners, or business people's relatives.
