一日 (ついたち) is one of those where if you look up the readings for any of the kunyomi / onyomi /, none of the mixed combinations make "tuitachi" come together.. It's a purely idiosyncratic form of 当て字 where kanji characters are used for their meaning and have developed a new pronounciation no longer reflective of standard usage. Sometimes also いちじつ。lol, isnt this the kanji one..?
