Hi,

それ以来じゃ、人が変わってしもた。

What is しもた?

しもた is a dialectal way of saying しまった (a shortened version of しもうた). It's used as an old men's speech there, but also used in Kansai dialect. There is regularity between standard Japanese and those dialects.
e.g.
あう(会う/合う)
standard: あった atta
dialect: おうた outa

かう(買う)
standard: かった katta
dialect: こうた kouta

うたう(歌う)
standard: うたった utatta
dialect: うとうた/うとた utouta/utota

かなう(叶う/適う)
standard: かなった kanatta
dialect: かのうた/かのた kanouta/kanota

はう(這う)
standard: はった hatta
dialect: ほうた houta

わらう(笑う)
standard: わらった waratta
dialect: わろうた/わろた warouta/warota

いわう(祝う)
standard: いわった iwatta
dialect: いおうた/いおた iouta/iota
(This お was originally written as を[wo], i.e., お in wa-column.)

I see, thanks. Actually I had another question today that I forgot:

「一つ買わにゃならんが、まずは金を取ってこんとな」

a) Is こんと = 来ないとならない?

b) If so, is な the first part of ならない or is it な the particle? I would guess the particle, but I'm not 100% sure.

a)
こんと is just 来ないと. いけない, not ならない, is omitted between と and な.

b)
You are correct. It's a sentence final particle.

Don't 来ないと いけない and 来ないとならない mean the same?

ないとならない sounds odd to me. 日本語文法ハンドブック gives only five expressions なくてはいけない, なくてはならない, なければいけない, なければならない, ないといけない for duty, i.e., ないとならない is not included in it.
The search in google(former) and in a corpus(latter) shows an interesting result. ないとならない seems to be actually used, but it's relatively uncommon in books, newspapers, magazines or texts of laws, comparing to the rest.

なくてはいけない 約 379,000,000 件 651 件
なくてはならない 約 8,620,000 件 2501 件
なければいけない 約 241,000,000 件 1980 件
なければならない 約 39,600,000 件 21291 件
ないといけない 約 543,000,000 件 682 件
ないとならない 約 32,500,000 件 24 件

Oh right, thanks, I thought those could go together in any combination.

そうなんですか。なんか、そっちの方がシリーズが長いみたいですが、内容はほぼ同じなのでしょうか。面白いです。私は日本語を教える人のための文法ハンドブック(初級と中上級)を持ってますけれども、初めてトリトリべさんの言った本を聞いてます。参考になりました。
