I don't think this is misfortune, he's literally suffering the consequences of his own crummy actions. If anything, they're going light on him. They were seeking 3 years of hard labor, but he only got 6 months and 20 days after his mom came to plead for leniency. He shouldn't be allowed to use the internet ever again.

Not really related but it reminds me of the Ethan Couch (affluenza) case. Ironically he killed people and got no prison time at all. (Although he later got incarcerated for a couple years for violating probation.)

It is complete BS he's spouting to try and get away with what he did. I wasn't raised in Korea, either, but I still know not to do what that absolute waste of space did. Oooh, if ever I wanted to b*tch slap someone into next Tuesday, it'd be him.
If his mother knew what was good for him, she'd let him stay all three years in prison and lean his lesson. He is one of those people who only learn the hard way.

Honestly, he's not that popular which is why he acts the way he does. He's trying to gain followers but so far it hasn't worked out. Let's hope it stays that way.

This is how the Japanese police deal with "nuisance tourists":
A viral social media video showing a man believed to be a foreign national being restrained by police in Tokyo has sparked debate after online posts claimed officers had begun wrapping up troublesome tourists "like sushi" for deportation. The footage, posted on X in February 2026, was viewed more than 4.5 million times and reposted around 15,000 times. It circulated with an English caption claiming Japan had started "sushi-rolling" nuisance tourists before deporting them.
