What's new

A bit late, but how do I apply for the American Stimulus money

You don't have to apply, it's automatic, as long as you have filed your taxes with the IRS the last couple years.
If you haven't, follow the directions for non-filers here:

Thanks
I ran into a problem. Japan does not use the 9 digits routing numbers. They only use the alphabets. The form does not take it. So I'm trying one other option with a bank in America, but my account there, well, I sent them an email regarding this matter and it seems like they refuse to help me out.

I don't know even if they closed my account due to its non-activity or something else may have happened.

Thanks

Accounts in America often get closed quickly these days, after only about a year or two of inactivity. It's a real pain in the arse because the money is given to your state and you have to go through a process to get it back. Check here or in the state where the account is located. If you haven't touched the account in years, chances are it's closed out.

That maybe the case. I just emailed my daughter. No message yet from her. I'll let you know what happens either way. Thanks for your help.
