What i know about Hijab is to cover your sexy areas in the body not to cover your whole body like a tank !I think this photo makes a nonsense of the idea that the burkha de-sexualises a woman, which I think we can agree is the point of it. The way that woman is standing, and the way the fabric clings goes some way to negating the fact that she's completely veiled. Not to the extent of a page three photo obviously, but she's still "womanly", right?
why don't they customize a swimmingpools for women !burqini
Why? Swimming pools in the UK are unisex and I see no problems. My health club has a pool and asian women use that with no problem along with asian men. I suspect most of them are more likely to be hindu or sikh rather than muslim.why don't they customize a swimmingpools for women !
Women can swim freely then !
i mean instead of making a special swimsuit like Derfel's link "burqini" they should rather make a women section of course for Muslims. Why? Swimming pools in the UK are unisex and I see no problems. Staring at women at the pool is part of the western experience. It comes free with the whole package.i mean instead of making a special swimsuit like Derfel's link "burqini" they should rather make a women section of course for Muslims.
I can't swim while some women staring at me![]()
Silly me,i couldn't find out this part !Wearing veils is considered to be necessary for Muslim women, but it's caused by two things historically, mistranslation and desert culture.
Quran tells women to protect themselves from the harmful eyes and instructs them to cover their women parts with long dresses and their neck with khimar. The terms used in ancient Quran, "khimar" is a scarf-like accessory that was used to protect people's eyes from sandstorms in Arabia. In time, as Islam scattered around the globe, khimar was translated as "veil" and by some scholars was said to be necessary, forgetting the actual purpose of the accessory. And after that, with the Islamic culture failing to improve their effectiveness on the globe and not accomplishing the requirements of the new age, Islamic Countries went into a dark age, while Europe was living its Enlightment Age. Feudal lords and dictators started to use religion as a power more than before, leading to todays religious Iran-like countries. And veils, "accidentally" become a subject of pressure for women, prohibiting their freedom.
It's great to have a special swimming pools for women.Hopefuly in Iran there are many swimming pools for women that women can use them freely,Also in Caspian see(north of Iran)there are some part of Land(Beach & sea)that is covered and just women are allowed to enter that part,So in Iran women are quite free & Relax about it,in that part women wear Bikini or any other thing that women wear in other part of word.
Isn't any thing similar it in Arab countries??? :?
Also plz look at photoes ,that is Persian Hijab.
Not sure, the beach is 800km from my deserty regionIsn't any thing similar it in Arab countries???
Yes,that's why i said soWhat i'm saying is, it started with khimar as a accessory to cover their neck and deteriorated to today's black Hijabs. It's not a thing that happened in a couple of years, i'm talking about hundred years of change. And i can't say its an advancement. Old Muslims were good at everything, philosophy, maths, physics, medicine. but with the deterioration of religious ethics in Islamic culture, they lost their power, and instead of trying to rebuild it, they encouraged it, so even a simple accessory for protection from nature became a requirement for being a muslim. All they had in mind was to not lose their connection to ancestors, but instead they became their ancestors at all aspects, even with the changing era.

I really think no-one has a problem with the hijab, just the covering of the face. The hijab reveals the whole face and humans like to see a face to be able to talk and socialise with people. Someone with a covered face is less likely to be spoken to. We need to see all the face to be able to read emotions, to tell if someone is lying or telling the truth. A covered face becomes suspicious and untrustworthy, as if the person has something to hide. What would you prefer, to talk to anyone without a mask or with one?
Your point is understandable,I my self faced problems talking to women that covered the whole face,i didn't know where to look atso i just speak like if i was speaking to my self Lol.
at least show us your eyes :?
the ignorance caused alot of probelms.
I have no quarrels with this kind of veil. The problem I have is with the abuse of the women who do not adhere to it, and the overall abuse of women in certain countries. People can wear whatever they want, they should have the choice.
What is this crap? I've never heard of any sort of stereotype, nor do I think Muslim men have repressed sexual urges. In fact, isn't it quite the opposite? Muslim men offer a girl a ride, rape her, she reports it, and she gets 100 lashes and a year in jail for accepting a ride from unrelated men.One of the American stereotypes is that Muslim women must wear veils because Muslim men are so lacking in morals and self-control that they cannot restrain themselves if their passions are inflamed by the sight of a woman's face or skin.
To make it simpler for you, that part of my message, being "What is this crap? I've never heard of any sort of stereotype", was expressing disappointment towards the fact that some Americans probably thought like that.Just because you haven't heard of something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Well, I never implied that you said Muslim men were repressed. I was responding to that example of how some Americans might stereotype Arabic people & culture. And where did I say that Muslim men are repressed?
Well, aren't you just a rude little bugger? That was uncalled for.Isn't this forum restricted to the literate?
in certain countries in the Middle-East, women are mutilated, tortured, and murdered for not adhering to Hijab
Can i ask you what planet are you talking about ? I live in Saudi Arabia and if the people here see a non-veiled woman they advise her and try to make her wear a veil,of course in a polite way.!not doing so in some Arabic countries sorta gets you blinded, mutilated, thrown in jail, flogged, or murdered.
this is a good question,Hezam, let's say you were married and moved to the USA. Would you force your wife to wear a veil?
Lol,you still are AdolescentThe main reason I go to the beach or swimming pools in the first place is to look at the women
It's nothing than rumerOne of the American stereotypes is that Muslim women must wear veils because Muslim men are so lacking in morals and self-control that they cannot restrain themselves if their passions are inflamed by the sight of a woman's face or skin
1- This is in Afghanistan not in Arab countries.
No,And Hijab is one of woman pride.Should the enforcement of Hijab be eliminated so that Muslim women do not have to fear these repercussions?
I'm certain the "people" who would "advise" a non-veiled woman to wear a veil wouldn't stop at no.Can i ask you what planet are you talking about ? I live in Saudi Arabia and if the people here see a non-veiled woman they advise her and try to make her wear a veil,of course in a polite way.!
I'm pretty certain there are quite a large number of Muslim women who do not want to wear a veil too.And you have to know that Arab-Muslim women are proud of the veil, you forgot that part.
Could you explain your reasons for not wanting to marry a non-veiled woman? Also, please tell me what you would do if your wife did take her veil off and defied you.To me,As Yemeni Muslim,i wouldn't let my wife take her veil off...And i wouldn't marry a non-veiled woman.
It unfortunately happens all over the Middle-East, Hezam. This is in Afghanistan not in Arab countries.
This is an anglo-American media so never believe them,it's bull$hit.
How can women be proud of their bodies if they have to hide them? You know very well that I didn't mind veils as much as I do how their usage is enforced and the extremes that go into some of the varying styles of Hijab. No,And Hijab is one of woman pride.
Yes,in some regions especially the middle region in Saudi Arabia and the north in Yemen.Faustianideals said:I'm certain the "people" who would "advise" a non-veiled woman to wear a veil wouldn't stop at no.
Sure but they must respect the majority, and this leads to another question :Faustianideals said:I'm pretty certain there are quite a large number of Muslim women who do not want to wear a veil too.
- Mostly non-veiled women could be attacked or harassed by bad guys.Faustianideals said:Could you explain your reasons for not wanting to marry a non-veiled woman? Also, please tell me what you would do if your wife did take her veil off and defied you.
As i said,I won't allow her to do so,If she refused then i choose to part with her.Faustianideals said:Also, please tell me what you would do if your wife did take her veil off and defied you.
I know the middle-East and i assure you that nothing like that happen here, never.Faustianideals said:It unfortunately happens all over the Middle-East, Hezam.
The Gaz bomb has been thrown by Anonymous person and Taliban didn't admited it.Faustianideals said:Are you saying that video is a fake, Hezam?
Did you forget that european women were covering their bodies excepting the face ? especially in England and France in the Noble families ?!!Faustianideals said:How can women be proud of their bodies if they have to hide them?
I know and i agree,But what you should care about is treating the foreigners in the Arabic countries, they are not forced to cover the whole body+face ! it's simply like old european styleFaustianideals said:You know very well that I didn't mind veils as much as I do how their usage is enforced and the extremes that go into some of the varying styles of Hijab.
The Hinjab isn't the problem, it shows the face. The problem is the veil and the Burka, the covering of the face. There seems to be a confusion between the two. This thread is about the veil and the fact it covers the face.I don't see any problem with wearing this Hijab :
the foreign people must wear that type not the one that covers the whole body,it's not a problem, right ?
They aren't prevented from wearing the hijab. France has banned the Burka and Spain want to follow this and many other countries within Europe. There was a case of girl who wanted to wear the hijab at school and prevented from doing so. The reason is that schools are supposed to be secular. In France they even prevent people from waering crosses.Sure but they must respect the majority, and this leads to another question :
Is it right to prevent women to wear Hijab in Europe ?
people in nature tend to morals so i think they don't have the right to prevent Hijab.
How so? If we look at societies and general corruption we see that islamic countries do not do very well. The Saudi Government is a well known corrupt government. Most of the power of the country is held by only 7% of the population. They have one of the most heavily censored media in the world, ranking along North Korea. See list:Preventing Hijab will lead to corruption and not the opposite.
-- Mostly non-veiled women could be attacked or harassed by bad guys.
Well that is a coment on your culture, which really needs to change. It is the 21st century, not the 15th.I can't stand seeing my wife/mother/sister/daughter un-veiled. (man feelings).
That needs to change. No wonder women feel proud to wear the veil when there is pressure in society like that. They are progammed to like it, same way you are programmed to condone it. Not your fault. Those in charge use it to keep in power. I can assure you that the Saudi Royal family have different views on these subjects. Thye jsut don't let the poeple know, and when you control the media it is quite easy for the poeple not to know. That is why they censor the internet so much because the truth is on it.- It's shame here to marry non-veiled woman.
She might not want to marry you for being such a person. A woman is equal to you in intelligence, not some inferior being, and in the UK she has that choice and can be very vocal about it.As i said,I won't allow her to do so,If she refused then i choose to part with her.
Yes, 200 years ago. We grew up.Did you forget that european women were covering their bodies excepting the face ? especially in England and France in the Noble families ?!!
