Weather thread!

ohhh.....I love hot weather. I am very envious mika_r! I hope you aren't near that volcano!

Thanks! don't worry I'm not near that volcano! I live in Santiago, and that eruption happens in the south of Chile (which is very very far from where I live!)

Burrrrrr!!!!

No warm air in Maine this morning! It's 3 degrees F here(-16 C). The wind makes it feel -14 F (-26 C) , called wind chill factor. Inland away from the ocean is -22 F or -30 C , don't want to even think what their wind chill is. They say we may make it to above freezing next week, UGH !

i just can't imagine that kind of weather, Uncle Frank!

here we have 34°C

Yo, Uncle Frank! Sounds like some nasty cold weather you're having up north. The last two days here in the Philly area have been wicked cold too, though not as bad as in your neck of the woods as we never saw the high side of 25 during the day despite plenty of sunshine with nighttime lows in the mid-teens. Nothing to sneeze at. But now we're looking at low 50's for the weekend, followed by low 60's for Monday and Tuesday. Go figure. However I'm a happy camper since there's no snow in the forecast. YAY!!

👍

It is quite warm here, about 2Celsius and this is 1:05am in mid-winter. The day temp was about minus 1 to pos1 celsius all day.

Well today it's 30 degrees warmer than normal...around 60! We are having thunder storms which is definitely rare for Wisconsin in January which is our coldest month! It's been very foggy as well. There was a huge pile up of cars in Madison and 5 people were killed. All because they were traveling too fast and too close for the conditions. I can't believe that people will risk there lives to get somewhere a few minutes faster. Anyway, back to the weather. We are going to have snow and 29 degrees tomorrow, so our little thaw isn't lasting...oh well......

Down here it was a normal day ~!
Between 7 & 10 degrees.
But it was very windy, i was almost blown of my bike :(
And now on the moment, its raining.

right now I'm in Osorno (at the south!) so it's much colder than Santiago!! .-.
It's mostly cloudy and the highest temperature will be 21°C and the lowest 5°C ._., quite different from Santiago! (in Santiago the highest is 30°C and lowest 12°C)

WOW, coming down hard & fast !

Snow started here a about 7AM. It's only 5:30PM and we have 11 inches of snow so far. By the time it stops here later tonight over a foot of new snow. This makes over 5 feet this winter and we get snow until April here in Maine; gonna be a loooong winter, UGH!

2 years old.

Uncle Frank, I do hope you have a snow plow or blower and not just a shovel! :)

Thank God I bought a new 13 HP snowblower 2 years ago to replace my old 8HP. My driveway is 95 feet long by about 12 feet wide. A storm like this still takes almost two hours to clean up everything. We are due to get another big storm this Friday. Our city of Portland has used up all the snow budget money for the season and there are 3 monthes more to go.

Make an annual snow festival, with iglu competitions or the like, hehe ;-)
(dissappearing into my warm bed)

It's great that you have a nice snow blower but it sucks that you have to use it so much! :) We just got 2 inches! heheheee, but by Wednesday the high will be maybe 5 degrees F and -5 for the low! That is really, really cold, but, YAY, I will be in sunny, warm Guam! The temps there are going to be 77 and 86! :)

Relatively warm here, clear sky and air, sunny, almost springfeelings in the air!
Just a beautifull day:-)

UGH! More snow!

So far this winter over 6 feet of snow here in Portland. Right now it's almost a whiteout. By morning we will have another 6 inches to snow blow. Sure wish I were back in Kyushu .

Uncle Frank, do you think your winter weather this year is more like it used to be? I know I have been complaining about all the snow and cold this year, but actually it's more normal than the warmer winters as of late. The Great Lakes have been shrinking because of the lack of snow. I suppose I shouldn't complain.

Strange winter here, an old fashioned one.

For the last 10 years, we have been having it real easy during the winter. I was ready to believe in global warming we had so little snow. This year is like the Maine winters of my childhood. The cold is much worse this year also. I never need to fill my oil tank until April or May, this year I just filled it last week and may need to fill again by April. Figures with the price of heating oil being sky high this year, it would be extra cold. My wife and I have started to dream about moving south to warmer climes where there is NO snow, LOL.

It's like the old days for sure! At least the school kids now know what a "snow day" is! I remember sitting around listening to my clock radio praying that school would be cancelled because of the snow.

No snow here, but wind and my windows are rattling, and sometimes there seems to be a bit rain.
Alltogether a rather warm winter here so far.
I miss the snow. . .Berlin looks so beautifull in freshly fallen snow!

Those lovely old, historic cities sure do look beautiful in the snow. There is nothing worse though than a cold winter rain though to bring the spirit down. I would rather have snow!

Second that very much!

It really goes right into your clothes and under your skin, this kind of cold rain. . .and often makes you find yourself in bed quite soon, sneezing and coughing. . .

While any summer rain is very appreciated by me!

Yes, certain cites really win all the way with snow. . .but also the trees and parcs within and outside the city, ahhh!

My oh my, more and more rattling over here. . .I think, I make myself a hot bath now, see you and be well! (hug)
