Do you wear Crocs?

I think Crocs are one of the greatest inventions in the last few decades, especially for people who work on their feet all day. Try putting Crocs on after you come home or at work, and you will feel like you got a brand new feet. They have small bumps inside which are designed to massage your sole while you wear them.
For people who don't know what Crocs are, they are shoes that are light weight, slip resistant and extremely comfortable.

I have to admit that I used to make fun of people who wore them because of the design and the colors, but now I even take them backpacking and put them on as soon as I come down from the mountains.

Who here on Jref likes Crocs?

Oh Misa J.!!! I Have to disagree... those things are hideous! Swiss-cheese shoes... Uggs and Crocs have got to go! I wont make fun of you for wearing them... but oh how I don't like those shoes...

I think crocs are offensive to anyone with good taste. An employee at my local convenience store used to wear the bright orange ones while on the job. I couldn't decide whether to laugh or to cry.

You see them a lot here in Japan, and I also make fun of them... but never tried them myself... how sad am I now

My kids have them and they like them. I know a lot of nurses and doctors swear by them, as a matter of fact I believe that is where they built their following. I myself will not wear them though. I think most of the colors are absolutely hideous, and I just don't wear shoes made of plastic unless they are zorii's. I prefer a nice pair of leather shoes or running shoes.

I think they are ugly.. And It's terrible that people dare to wear those ugly things in public. At home ok. But you aren't going out or shoppen or to your work for that matter on your slippers (you know those tedyy fussy thingies) eather..

I would never wear them, the reason is simple, when I come indoors from outside I take my boots off (I dont wear shoes) and let me feet rest, I find the socks I have on are enough to cover my feet and keep them warm.

Personally, I had never heard of crocs before reading this thread, so I don't have an opinion about them one way or the other, but as far as the colors go, I suppose as long as you coordinate with the rest of your clothes, there's nothing wrong with wearing them in public!

I completely agree. Have some personal pride, people ! If comfort and laziness were all that mattered, why not go to the store in your bathrobe or not bother getting dressed at all on really, really hot days...

I don't know why people are saying they look bad - I think they look very comfortable and colorful. I've never worn them, but I've heard of them. I just saw today that my niece has a pair, and she and her mother say they're comfortable. I only buy shoes once in I don't know how many years, so it's not likely I'll get any soon unless someone else gives theirs away.

Those of you who are brave enough to try them on, you will almost hear little angels singing around you when you put them on!

I've read that doctors and nurses priscribe them for their medical benefits, and one teacher said that not one shoe has helped like Crocs did after having three knee-reconstructive surgeries and a foot surgery. Now, aren't you convinced? ;-) ;-)

Get Used to it.. I never tie my shoes.. Than it happens less. Don't were Nickes... They kill my ankles...

Yeah, I wouldn't really care for my hospital workers wearing them either. It isn't like there aren't other options. My sister in law is a chef and she uses specially designed orthopedically designed clogs that are slightly heavier but otherwise offer the same benefits as crocs while looking much more respectable and swears her feet feel just as blissful !!!

Couldn't you just politely look somewhere else (besides at people's feet)? Surely in the summertime at least shoes like Crocs should be acceptable. What is all this about what shoes other people wear? I hardly even notice what other people are wearing (shoes or clothes)!

Well, the person can be standing far far away but you could still see his super-colorful crocs

and you will be standing there with fear while he or she walks to you saying: "you cant look at anything but my crocs!!"

Crocs are an absolute assault on my sense of aesthetics, and I think they can make anyone look lazy and slovenly. On the other hand, they are amazingly light and make great water shoes. I actually own a pair of croc sandals, pictured below. They are still light and very comfortable, and I only feel mildly self-conscious when wearing them in public. To be honest, I wouldn't have bought them if I wasn't in a pinch, but they're quite useful and far less offensive than their close-toed cousins.
