Hi @Amy Gonzales , if you still have those letters they could be helpful. At the very least we could help you translate them.

do you have any information about what he did for work, or where he was from?

Eshimi is not a surname I've ever heard, and I can't find any that even contain "shimi," except for "shimizu"

Hideo is a given name, and was likely his first name. Do you have a name on your birth certificate, perhaps?

Hello sir

All that's left are some pictures
when they had a relationship at that time here in cebu mom said that my dad wasn't legally separated from his wife in japan and in my birth certificate im illegitimate child
i think that's the reason why they separated here in cebu
When i asked my mom before she died she said that my dad owned some business in japan
To be honest sir i only knew few things about my dad

My condolences. I'm afraid with such little information it's exceedingly difficult to track anyone down. If you at least knew about the business he owned that would give us something to go by.

Is it possible his last name was "Eshima" and not "Eshimi"?
I did a quick search and the only thing I found was an "Eshima Hideo" (江島 秀雄) who is a coach at a tennis club in Saitama, north of Tokyo.
Do you know if he played tennis?

(I realize this is a total stab in the dark with less than a 0.000000000000001% chance of being the same person, but unfortunately I think it's going to be hard to do any better from just a picture and a possibly inaccurate romaji name.)
