Looking For Matsubara Miki

Exploring J-Pop and learning Japanese Language (日本語), having a great time, there are few interview of her which I really need to understand and subtitles are not enough. I hope I could learn the language and can able to understand her.

Much love to you, you made my day. I was about to post a photo collage but you are most welcome. I have inserted a photo for which I had to search a lot. It is very difficult to find her photos from late 1990s to 2000

There are plenty of nihongo magazines based on her life and her interview are also covered on these magazines. Its hard to find those magazines online though.
There are several ways to get the magazines in which she has appeared: ask the person in charge and editor-in-chief of the relevant magazine, ask the person in charge of her company, ask her relatives and friends, etc.(Use email, telephone or fax)
Internet search method: magazine database website,Magazine recommendation website with search engine
Here are some links I found:

I recently discovered Miki's song Stay with Me within the last two years or so. I heard the song last night on Instagram and have been researching; that's how I found this thread. It's a great song but it's sad that she passed away. There is very little information about her life and what you have shared is really helpful. Thank you shamco for giving us the information on this thread.

Also, how did you break up, was it because you left Japan?

If you have any more info please share.

Please reply.

Her managing company at that time Victor's Music have been harassing me and her continuously because they didn't want our relationship to be public and may affect her reputation therefore they threatened her and me that if we continue our relationship they may fire her and that means she may lose her contract with them and of course that if it happened may end her music career so I have to sacrifice my love and relationship with her in order to satisfy her sponsoring company and to make sure they won't let her down so I convinced her to accept our separation for her future career and eventually I left Japan shortly after but we kept our contact for awhile and ultimately decided that it is best we separate for her future success .

Thank you for the detail Shamco. It's sounds like you were put in a very difficult spot just because you weren't Japanese. I can't imagine having to convince my girlfriend that it was better for us to break up than stay together for the sake of her career, especially after years of dating. It would make me feel very bitter to have to do that.

In the three years that you dated, what kind of things did you do together? Did you visit music venues and experience Tokyo nightlife? Did she help you in your studies at all?

Also, do you remember the day you met Miki? What was that like?

Sorry to read that. It's very sad to remember those heart breaking past memories, hope you enjoyed your life to fullest and had a great experience of life.

I am hoping if you could tell us more about your life after Miki

Wow... you sacrificed your relationship just for her to succeed. It truly shows how much you loved and cared for her.

I respect your admirable decision, Mr. Fahd

Hello Everyone,

Hope all are doing great, today is the 19th anniversary of her demise.

I started listening to J pop back in March 2021 when I was exploring some different music and first music I heard was "60s-70s Japanese Instrumental Cinema Funk Breaks & Beats". That's just the start of j pop journey then I got recommendation of "Miki Matsubara - Stay With Me HD (Club Mix)". The music was funky and upbeat which later I find it was remixed (Original Club Mix Mixed By D.O.I.), which is attracting but not organic. I did started listening to it every morning, but did not bother to explore much of her music. However I started getting more recommendations and started liking 80s j pop by various artist. Currently I mostly listen to 70s to 90s j pop. I feel blessed upon exploring j pop.

Finally I started exploring more about Miki and got this thread upon seeing some of her rear images and started reading, after which I fell in Love with her. I keep listening to her for almost 8 - 10 hours a day which is eventually depressing and I keep on thinking of her throughout the day which started effecting my day to day work. However listening to her for longer hours helped me understand the style, which is different in many stages.

Her studio recording has a balance of every instrument and its just perfect to listen to.

Her live stage performance I feel are the best, her voice has peaked on every live performance as she is free to play with her voice every time. She feels very happy and she is more connected to her audience, her stage presence is what makes me fall in love every time. Her expression, her body movement its just soo deep in every way.

Her English album "Blue Eyes" is what I never listen to much, as I feel she is uncomfortable while singing english songs. She must gave sung just for producers demand. I guess she don't know english either.

She often dance while her performance which looks sweet and happy, every time I see her dance I feel so happy for her, I really love her dance but she is not a good dancer though.

When she started her jazz band Dr. Woo, that's when she has more freedom and her performances become more attractive, but there is only few performance of Dr. Woo which is on youtube.

There is no photograph of her marriage and if you google search her husband's name you get a result of j porn star which is sad.
I wish to find more details regarding her marriage, to visit all the places she performed, to get to meet her friends and known people.

Keep listening to her is kind of sad and depressing but it keeps me motivated to go to japan and do better in life, her talent is what helped her gain popularity. I keep doing best to gain my talent, I wish some day to do better for myself

みきおばさんお誕生日おめでとう
Happy Birthday dearest Aunt Miki Matsubara 😘 😘 😘

I just read all of this, I've also been celebrating her birthday every year.

Anybody know if Miki ever had a child
Per the Internet: Miki Matsubara, a Japanese composer, lyricist, and singer, was married to Masaki Honjo, a backing band drummer for her band, who later became a dentist and died in 2007 at the age of 54. There is no record of Miki Matsubara having any children from her marriage with Masaki Honjo.
