This is absolutely crazy...a man gets a phone bill for $218 Trillion, after he thought he had turned off the phone and paid the last of the bill which was $23. How the hell do you get a $218 trillion bill? I ***** when my bill in more than $100!
$218 Trillion dollar phone bill

My mobile was a nice 13,000 this month :'( I think I went a little wild, but $218 trillion is a good effort!

My monthly bill is just a shade under $90.00 American, but that also includes my DSL line and service. 218 trillion? Wow! That's sizeable!

:D

You think that's bizarre .... ?

In 1975, the boss I was working for received a bill from Visa (which, in the UK was then "Barclaycard")
It was for ...... ツ≫??.00 .... he was fully paid up.
He ignored it.
Two weeks later, he received a "Final demand" .... for ツ≫??.00!
He ignored it.
One week later ... they "blocked" his credit card!
After many phone calls and much correspondence .... he finally wrote a check for ... you've guessed it! ..... ツ≫??.00!
He received a receipt, thanks .... and all was well!
Isn't technology wonderful!
(..And I saw the correspondence ...!)
ニ淡ニ停?。ニ停?

How can it not be some kind of mistake? Phone bills can't even come close to getting that high.☝

I wonder about the rest of the story, we also had this story in the newspaper, I doubt that he really called this much. or some Company took his number or something.

My phone bill is around 40 Euro a month, I call to my wife a couple of hours a week on the phone, for only 0,02 Euro a minute. crazy it's so cheap to call to the other side of the world!

I am wondering what happened the last days/weeks...

anybody got news?

Google is your Friend! Decimal Point was errant

Telekom Malaysia said the agency mistakenly sent out a notice demanding payment of 806,400,000,000,000.01 ringgit ($218 trillion) instead of the actual 80.640000000000001 ringgit ($21.80). The notice threatened court action if the bill was not paid.

$21.80 is much better eh? Evidently Canadian News sources were the only ones to run this!

haha well at least we got some funny news again!!! better than the war stuff!!

I would get a heart attack reading my phone bill like this haha

On a serious note, my family got a $200 phone bill in the mail once. We thought it was a joke, until we called up our company and got referred to a Swedish phone company.

They said we called the equivelent of a 1-900 sex number, and had the records to prove it. We asked how. They said long distance. We don't have long distance. They said through the internet. We're on a 56k dial-up, and we use a very specific local number for our provider, and we use the same line for phone and internet.

After a heated exchange, I called up our phone service and asked for every bit of protection that the phone company was required to give me. Then I notified every relevant government agency I could about it.

This is for my state: http://www.puc.state.nv.us/consumerinfo/slamming.htm

Haven't heard a peep from them since. Apparently our phone company is famous for doing this sort of junk.

That's not so expensive I think, a couple of years ago I called for 160 euro myself in one month. than for a family having 200 is mmm well still expensive but not THAT expensive...

Now... we use the internet :D Msn: Video conference, Skype: sound plus video, etc

hey folks

once i got an invoice over 980 € from my provider...

my connection was initially a flatrate, but they've introduced a 10 gig limit. then they sent a lousy letter to their customers to inform them. (seems like i havent noticed that one 😌)

as fate would have it, i went to a trip to france for about 1 week. before leaving, i left my computer on with some ... well ... applications running that caused a lotta traffic.

then, next month, when i checked the invoice, i nearly got a heart attack...

i had to pay a fortune for every single megabyte...

fortunately, after a little negotiation, they told me if i switch to a faster (more expensive) connection, i don't have to pay the full amount. i think it were about 500 €. they also told me i shouldn't use certain applications, and i haven't since then 😌

still way too much money for some random files i didn't need anyway.

Wow, what a bill.. My bill is now 49.00 a month with Cingular and if it gets over 55.00 I freak out, heh. That guy is gonna have a fun time in court with that, I would like to have seen his facial expression when he got the bill. :D
