you know your a jref member when.....

I would say, that its easy to sign up and become a member but that just means your able to post here and there.
But i would say that you know your a jref member when others talk about you in there posts, it makes you feel like your a part of the community.
There are some that post and then people reply to it, oblivious to who posted above them, but when you begin to get some recognition from others on your personality and the way you answer and so on, you just know your a part of the community.

I mean i was happy about my rep going up from others as such, but what i really liked the most is when others mentioned me in there posts, it just makes all the typing all worth while.
At first my opinion was quite different to others and then i begun to go along with things, posting here and there agreeing with some(handing out rep),
sometimes my opinion is far from what others like (far i would say), but as things have gone along (i wouldn't say im liked), im just not hated (pretty neutral), and now im going along fine. Just lovin' the varied community life!!
What was it like for everyone else as they go along there jref timeline?
when did you begin to feel you was a part of the jref community?

Im on another very international site, and I have many enimies, people who I dont know sending me a PM calling me a Mother F**ker, and I get other PMs from people telling me that someone has said something bad about me.


There was also a thread 'List your Top 10 Fave Forumers' my name showed up a fair few times

I know I'm a forum member when I'm online all day at work (checking various forums periodically no matter how busy I am), get home, go out again, come back late and have to go online again at home just to upload something that I promised for "someone on j-ref".

I agree with Jack2 about the sense of community here. People are friendlier than on a lot of other forums. As you might have guessed ( ) I frequent a few j-rock forums, and on many of them there are a lot of posts that are pointless, very immature, hate-filled or just don't contribute anything worthwhile. Here, although there's a fair share of what I call 'conversation' posts (i.e. series that reads more like a messenger convo... lol), people are mainly nice and at least willing to engage in serious discussion... as well as sharing a few jokes as well of course!

Yeah - to me it feels like a community when people start discussing other members, things like, "Frank would like this!" or "where is Kirei on this topic?" or "I wonder where is Doc?"

i would say i go on varied forums, but this stands above the rest in just the way the community is, i dont think another forum has someone like frank do you?

God, I didn't notice this thread until now!

I know I'm a jref member because I decided not to post once (because it started eating into my job) but came back. The second time I thought I shouldn't be posting any more was when I started regretting my "fire-and-go" not-carefullly-thought-out posts I made (happening mostly in the Nihongo Forum )--but I'm back again...

Also, every time a truck passes by, I look in hope that I might see Mike Cash!
