So, I've written a goodbye letter to a Japanese exchange student who is leaving soon, and was wondering if I had written it correctly.

Here's what I'm trying to say:

Dear (Name),
I hope you're well.
I've written this letter to say thank you.
Thanks for visiting (high school), and for the memories.
I hope to go study in Japan someday, and I'll try applying for the Japanese bursary.
I'm still not very good at Japanese, but I will study with all I've got.
Well, that's it for today.
Take care!
I'm looking forward to your reply.
-From (Name)
Here's what I wrote (sorry for the lack of kanji, as I suck at it):
Thanks!

Here's my attempt.

is more likely for the situation you haven't seen the person for a long time.)

Your original letter can convey what you want to say enough.👍 I think there is no problem to send it, or rather, it would be better use your original as it is, without asking for help of other person.;)
