wow, so harsh on Japan hahaha.

What did you guys think of the match from the Netherlands and Serb&mon. I was at my dads place with 10 other people. Having a bbq in the garden watching soccer under the hot sun * how great can a last weekend in the Netherlands be.

I think we played pretty okay, not great, but we stoped Serb&mon from scoring, and Robben was the man :D:D plus Van Persie!

So what do you guys think about that match?

I saw it at the beach @ den haag but needless for me to tell u that i was distracted by all the dutch cuties around...so i saw it in parts and parts... i have to say robben was the only positive thing about holland...the rest of the team didn't impress me...the team is 2 young overall, i feel that van basten made a mistake not calling up seedorf

Many, MANY Dutch people are glad that Seedorf is not selected for the W-cup.. Since the penalty he missed at Euro '96 against the French he has been a very impopular foorballer.
Anyways, I think that Holland didn't play well at all. Robben was absolutely excellent, but the rest was so-so.. And Japan, oh what a shame.. Ah well, guess they'll just have to win against Croatia and Brazil!! Easy does it!! 😌
Togo is up against Korea today.. So what do you think? Togo hasn't had a decent training program so far because of players' strike, and Korea are out to repeat their success of four years ago.. It will be interesting to watch!!

Korea is down 1-0 to TOGO? Man there will be a riot somewhere if they lose!

Yes, Korea have won their first game, it wasn't a beauty, but they got 3 points.

I am glad that Seedorft didn't came, and I think that we got a good team, who work for the team, and not for themself. So I am happy, and think we make a 75% change that we become World Champion, but first some things should change. Ow and Ruud should play some better soccer, I didn't see him in the match, did he play haha

Thoughts on the Swiss vs France game coming on soon?
I have absolutely no idea which players are from Swiss. France has very good players, Henry, Vieira, Zidane (his last ever tournament), so they should do pretty good.. The game is still 0 - 0 at the 22nd minute..

For the first time in my life, I am watching the World Cup. I am hopelessly addicted, too! I never thought I'd be sitting around glued to the TV because of football/soccer.

I was watching the Togo/Korea game, and was wanting Togo to win so bad because they have had such a rough time.

I'm looking forward to watching more tomorrow! 😄

maybe that's true but a player with the experience of seedorf is essential at times...look at kaka, he resolved the game for brazil, pirlo for italy, and seedorf is way better than sneijder...and from his experience at AC like kaka and pirlo he could well make the play that may save a game for holland, well we'll see how holland fair today against ivory coast :)

Glad to hear that knm...the US plays today with Italy, my fave for the competition... good luk then...hope u will enjoy it nonetheless🙂

Well, it looks like the U.S. will live to play another day after a 1-1 tie with powerhouse Italy, something I don't think anyone saw coming save for one of the midday hosts of the sports talk radio station I listen to here in Philly. However, it would be awfully nice if the U.S. actually manages to score a goal in the World Cup since our lone goal was the result of an accident after an Italian player headed the ball into his own goal. Next up, Ghana. Should be interesting.

:-)

Japan did alright against a team hat was already talking about the knockout stage. Frustrating to see the Japanese come so close but seemingly mess up right in front of goal though.

If Brazil drubs the Aussies tonight, that would place the Aussies and Croats as the main contenders for second place. That could make for an extremely explosive Aussie vs Croat game.

As to me, I am 100 per cent sure that the Brazilian team is most likely to be the champions. Such names as Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Kaka, Kafu, and many others are self-explanatory, are not they?

I agree with you =) Brazil has a pwning team! And the reserve is even better than the main ^_^ Cicinho, Robinho, Rogerio Ceni (GK), Fred!

We shall win for the 6th time /GG! XD~

My second favorite is Portugal :] Not just because their coach is brazilian, but because he's the best coach of the world and my team here in Brazil had the honor of having him as coach for many years =) Not anymore though =*(
Luiz Felipe Scolari... no wonder if Portugal wins ^^;

Germany bea sweden so the next team to be bashed is argentina :-)
I can understand your optimism, but may I remind you that Germany didn't have a real match in the group stage (Ecuador, Costa Rica and a weak Poland) and a 10-man Sweden can't be called a real contender either. Sure, I admire Germany's football, it is very all-round, but I would like to see what they will do against Argentina, which is their first real opponent.

Ok but who did argentina play?
The only opponent they had who was able to play on their level was holland and both of them just played a huge big load of crap and anyway its our turn to win again ;)🙂
And the Brasil hasn't been showing the world ,why they were world champion 4 years ago england is really bad and so are Italy and France so who else could win?
And no offence ,but holland just isn't supposes to hold the world cup =)

how can italy be bad when they won their group, when they beat ghana and czech republic...their group was much harder than germaný's group. Germany hasn't had a real test in the WC yet, sweden didnt even put up a fight....against argentina we shall see wat germany can do ;)

Excuse me? Did you actually see the match between Argentina and Holland? Both had a B-team because they were qualified anyway, but Holland stood up well against the likes of Teves, Messi and Riquelme, who all played well.

Well said.

hey no offence guys but there is no point arguing germany will win and you'll see just that happening =)
As for the dutch it's time to say goodbye but your trip home isn't that long anyway 👍

Look, I don't mind your anti-Dutch sentiments but try to support what you think of the teams/tournament with some arguments. God I hate that.
Ah well, you got your wish anyway. Holland lost to Portugal 1-0 in an unbelievable match..

Holland and Portugal game was very tense atmosphere, so many yellow and red card within a single game ..... now England will face Portugal with two of them main player not available for the next match because of the red cards.

I'm not a soccerfan, actually I despise soccer, but I saw half of the game and I was laughing my *** off with those morons getting yellow and red cards all the time. When they even tough eachother they start faking injuries, what a lame way to earn your living! Overrated, overpayed idiots, that's what they are if you ask me ;-)
