Why Other Countries Hate Japan

I am a bit scared for china actually. It is going to fast in my eyes... but maybe I should read more about it! Japan is comming back from what I have read/seen the last year. but if it can come back good.... A good relationship with China would be good, and I think China should work harder for that, and not Japan. IMO

unfortunately, our government addict to export too much:-)

It was good🙂
In the country where Japan assisted, all become rich.😌

Japan and china and America and all economically well off developed nations are too highly economically involved with each other, so not only will Japan never pay for a percieved "superior arrogant attitude" but china and japan will continue to live off nicely the wealth that both receive from investment in the other.

You people, all nationalistic that, patriotism this, ethnic cleansing there, jesus open your eyes, Japan and China in this day and age thrive by working together economically, any war, "making them japs pay" or any other sort of ***** chinese retard nationalistic head-bashing will never happen because china like most of the world, wants wealth more then a empty and not very satisfying war.

Plus if you really want to kill japanese folk then your no better then the WW2 japanese war-criminals are you?.

As ive always said, no harm in Japan giving an apology aslong as the chinese are in an attitude to accept it and forgive.

It takes two to tango as they say.

Usually defined as when someone tries to forcibly change the topic of the thread, generally to something of their liking. Can be strongly related with being a 'troll, trolling', intentionally looking for online arguements, often on unrelated issues to the thread topic.

recently, I read a ppp-GDP rank of 2005 in CIA website
http://www.cia.gov/cia/publications/factbook/rankorder/2001rank.html
Rank Country GDP (purchasing power parity) Date of Information
1 World $ 59,590,000,000,000 2005 est.
2 United States $ 12,410,000,000,000 2005 est.
3 European Union $ 12,180,000,000,000 2005 est.
4 China $ 8,182,000,000,000 2005 est.
5 Japan $ 3,914,000,000,000 2005 est.
6 India $ 3,699,000,000,000 2005 est.
7 Germany $ 2,454,000,000,000 2005 est.
8 United Kingdom $ 1,869,000,000,000 2005 est.
9 France $ 1,822,000,000,000 2005 est.
10 Italy $ 1,651,000,000,000 2005 est.
.................
Now China exceeds Japan and becomes the third largest trader in
the world and China's foreign exchange reserve also exceeds Japan
and becomes the largest holder of USD by the end of last year.
I believe sooner or later Japan will pay for "their arrogance, and
superior feeling in Asia".
If China agree to appreciate its currency according to the request
of USA and EU, even the GDP at official exchange rate will not
lose to Japan.

Yeah, China is doing pretty well, but Chinese ppl need to be aware of the fact that they owe their success to foreign investments/foreign aid (this includes Japan.)..It's not the achievement of the Chinese alone...👍

People are becoming wealthy, that's a good thing, but the cult of money without "public" is scary, though. ヒ?カナス窶槐?Qナ津カ is so prevalent in China..

You are right, China itself has too many problem and far
from being wealthy, We just big in size:-)
and I strongly oppose the low-exchange-rate policy which
only in favor of foreign investments and so called
"export-oriented" economy, but unfair to Chinese people.
Now I list Japanese aid by the end of 2005:
volunteer aid: 145.7 billion JPY
technic cooperation: 150.5 billion JPY
low interest loan: 3133.1 billion JPY
Is that all?
I agree that those aid is useful(so thank you) but not crucial.
I don't think this small amount of money can make China rich.

I think it comes down to the fact that nobody likes revisionist history, and Japan is certainly not a stranger to that... As for China, you are talking about a government who suppress personal liberty and freedoms through totalitarianism... I don't recall there being any religous groups rounded up and tortured in Japan.

Within the past six months, China has stated that it will use nuclear weapons against the US to retaliate against any action taken to liberate taiwan--- true or not, it's not the most responsible thing to bring to the world-table.

Japan has recently shown also a bit of nationalism (see: Hating the Korean Wave), bordering on xenophobia with regards to Korea & China, but as has Korea and China to Japan. These are isolated incidents, but these incidents are more prevelant in a society where social economic stressors dictate that Japanese youth may have fewer options and opportunities.

ed: I think to China's credit, they realised that you can not have a communist free market, and their economy is seperate from their style of governance... this has led I think to their success...

A korean news report says that 63 % of Japanese like Koreans.

Wow.

Japanese media tend to focus on good stuff about S.Korea, like K-pop and dramas, so perhaps that's affecting how the majority of Japanese look at this country.

"The Hate Korea Wave" is a reaction to the "Korea Wave", this title attracts attention, but contrary to what many people may expect in the book, it tries to inform ppl on Korea, focusing on Korea-Japan disputes, like the territorial issue. It's based on facts and opinions claimed by S.Koreans. It's not really anything like blatant racism. It tries to show the other side of the story. (Of course, this manga is just one person's opinion, and the reader need to go through more research before they reach any kind of conclusion. One book does not cover all information.)

In response to the book, Korea published "Hate-Japan Wave". This is more......

You're kidding right?! Have you seen some of the excerpts alluded to from this book? Something tells me there is such a thing as brainwashing.....

As to the Korean Wave in Japan, it is primarily a pop-cultural thing, not something really fostering real 'love' between the two nations. But, one good thing about it is people on both sides are interested in some cases, in visiting the other nation, and this sometimes does change real perceptions on both sides. When you visit places rather than just read about or see them on TV, it can really give you a much stronger impression that on a basic level, people are not that different. What's different is sometimes the way that this 'sameness' is expressed in each country.

This book is pretty informative, actually, but this type of book tends to end up in a "black and white" opinion...The opinion is very strong. (A strong opinion is both good and bad.) It's atypical, because in general J ppl favor "gray" over "black and white".

The "gray zone" is what makes J ppl quite flexible, J ppl can compromise quite well as long as the other party is also willing to compromise, but when facing another person with a "black and white" opinion, "gray" is too weak.

Brainwashing is a term to describe an opinion that does not fit coherently into your own belief.

Other countries hate Japan because some of their people are small minded hate-filled bigots who get off on hate and suffering and hurting others, why they hate are mere excuses, these people are nothing more then pathetic excuses for human beings who instead of trying to improve themselves and in turn society in general for the betterment of mankind, they'd rather war monger, persicute or otherwise turn on their fellow man.

I think their scum and they dont deserve the oxygen they steal from everyone elses air.

Yay for grumpy attitude post!.

Not quite, it refers to those who believe as fact that which is definately known not to be true. Anyone who believes that the Koreans welcomed the Japanese troops to 'liberate' and modernize their country falls into this category.

Flexible is not quite the word I would use all the time, though it certainly fits part of the time. Sometimes it's more like indecisiveness. Making decisions quickly is not something you see often happening here.

Japan media also calls their indiginous Korean residents, tv talent, stars etc, 'gaijin' or foreigners... my ex called them gaijin... not very welcoming if you think about it.

This article seems to use something called South Korean Research to research this in Japan, and two unknown entities in the United States & Germany... (I don't know why these countries were chosen... I don't think the United States have had that negative of an opinion of Korea since the 50's and certainly I don't think now...)... There certainly aren't any underground manga being written about Korea in either Germany or Japan.

They sample 1000 people from each of the three countries, and I believe come to a figure that out of all three only 9% in total have visted Korea, with the highest majority being in Japan. Seems pretty obvious logic there.

They do say, soley that Japan has a 63% approval rating of say, 'the Koreans', whereas they also rate 'Korean products', which I think actualy scores less. Also, the article appears to have a 5 star rating, judged by 0 people.

I'm not sure who made this report, it seems a little self-serving, propagandising; It's hard for me to even judge it's validity, especially sourced from a random site on the internet.

Chosun Ilbo: one of the leading newspapers in S. Korea.
The Chosun Ilbo - Wikipedia

This newspaper sometimes(?) does exaggerate things.
If this is just a made-up story, I wonder what the purpose of this report is.

Interesting. Generally I think what gets put into newspapers is designed to manufacture opinion... public opinion has been dictated in areas far more in newspapers than they have by the public's actual experience with the topics themselves.

I am honestly not fighting for one side or the other. I do not see Korea as worthy of the scorn it can receive from Japan... Though also, it is hard when talking about relations between Korea & Japan to not to keep comming back on issues leveled at Japan concerning history and current regard for Korean citizens.

I think though, harmony between the regions is what should be strived for, first and foremost above trying to level blame on any one nation.

Have a nice day everyone ~~ :)

Not the past thing cause the present situation,In fact ,China abnegate the reparations that Japan should pay after the war! Chinese people is virtuous, they didn't want to see the Japanese People suffer more pain after the war,and Japan and China establish diplomatic relations in 1970's.
The real reason is:the attitude of the present Japanese or Japan gov.,and the behavior of the Japanese people!

As the "breaching the UN constitution",Japan's military expenditure go beyond the limit~.It's Army size is too large than the limit~It even can garrison Iraq!

"Has any of the 5 nations in Western Europe (Austria/Hungary, Great Britain, Frence, Germany, Italy), Russia, the US, and Japan ever given an official apology for their unlawful and aggressive entry into China ever ? Sorry if my question sounds ignorant, but I am ignorant about this.

Not that China would be asking for it; but it would seem appropriate and friendly from the European, American, Japanese parties in matters of diplomacy... and not to exclude genuine good will, either.

I would like to say; the things that the Alliance did to China before and after the 1900 incident were far from honorable. It would remain a shame for each country involved in the aggression. While it may be consoling and pacifying for the Chinese to receive the apology, it would actually be in the instrest of the aggressor nations to apologise. Why dig up old wounds ? Look at the flash linked in the original post; apologise, all who bear the guilt, maybe not personally, but by national identity.... And that is how I feel about the 8 nations with their armies in Beijing, 1900."

Why is it that the Chinese feel that they are the only exception. That's why we were talking about the double standard.

A good point!! It's a double standard when someone says that the Japanese did the worst. It's easier to blame an outsider (particularly a loser). The Chinese gov is directing the ppl's attention away from the atrocities that their leaders have done.
My history teacher (British) back in HS said, what Japan did was like nothing compared to what Mao Ze Dong did. (I think she was not particularly making favorable comments for Japan, because there were Chinese students, too. )
Doing less doesn't justify the killing itself, but the claim that the Japanese did the worst is meaningless.

Around 60th anniversary of World War II, Japan's militarist tendencies but their Asian neighboring countries for quite unhappy. People will ask why after 60 years the Japanese have for their predecessors 60 years ago in the crimes apology? As a nation, it acts not only affected by the temporary cost-benefit analysis driven, more subject to its cultural impact. As a national culture is the accumulation of the national historical memory. Only a cost benefit analysis, a nation not only as the author of prisoners need to act, and generations inherited culture, the memory of the past several game acts with the results tend to take cooperation strategy. History of aggression against his country in the nation, if not the memory of this aggression and its consequences, can not reproduce the culture of peace in their genes, it can not prevent it cultural launched a new war of aggression. Therefore, from a national and historical perspective, 60 years after the person does not apologize for any of its predecessors.

The question is, why do many Japanese refused to apologize? In addition we do not know the reasons, one reason is that in Japan the aggressor did not apologize before. Here, I refer to the Western countries, led by Britain and France. They have no apologies, because they so far have not been defeated. As social Darwinism logic, the aggressors to lose the punishment, was asked to apologize, but did not win the aggressors have received punishment has not yet been called upon to apologize. Since the beginning of modern times Britain, France, and other Westerners on the rules of the world, in fact, is the Japanese subsequently followed the rules. Namely, the Warring States rules of social Darwinism, or in my "What is civilization," said the "advanced weapons of winning" rules. It is this rule has led to two world wars, resulting in the world quickly from machetes lance entered the era of nuclear era. But until today, the Westerners have not the slightest remorse, but tried over a period of the inglorious history. From their orthodox history textbooks, a new generation of Westerners do not feel ashamed of their ancestors by piracy, modern Japanese militarism will find its moral foundations. Today, however, we face the world order is in fact determined by our understanding of the historical composition. It contains "persons of advanced weapons defeat" of the rules is to build a 150 years ago. We previous history without criticism, we can not change this rule. It is this rule which, to the dawn of a nuclear terror so that people can not see the path to peace.

Around the 60th anniversary for World War II, the militaristic orientation of Japan resumes instead, rather discontented for this in the surrounding countries of Asia. Will people ask why will Japanese 50 years later apologize for crime 60 years ago of the older generation of they? As one nationality, behavior of it want , drive cost - whom income analyze for the moment not merely, influenced by its national culture even more. Because a national culture is the accumulation of the memory of this national history in fact. Only cost-benefit analysis for the moment, one nationality can of the predicament cooperator act like convict only, extend national culture that come down from generation to generation , pass by behavior and result of playing chess because of memory many times, incline to adopt the cooperation tactics. Invade the nationalities of other country in history, if not to get off this invasion and consequence memory, can't bone enter peaceful gene among culture its, culture of it can prevent it from launch the new war of aggression. So, from the viewpoint of a nationality and history, it is not a mistake that the person 60 years later apologizes to its elder generation .

The problem is why do many Japanese refuse to apologize? Except that the reason why we do not know , a reason is, the invader before Japan has not apologized . I mean the western countries where Britain and France are headed by here. They have not apologized , because they have not defeated yet up until now. Because of social logic of Darwinism, invader failed to type punish, demanded to apologize, but the invader defeating has not been punished , has not been demanded to apologize yet either. Westerners such as Great Britain , France ,etc. have forced on the rule of the world since modern, it is in fact the rule that Japanese followed later. I.e. social the Warring States rule of Darwinism, I a said one rule of " weapon advanced person person win " until " whether what be civilization ". It is this kind of rule that causes two world wars, lead to the fact the world entered nuclear era since the era of the broadsword pike rapidly. But until today, westerners do not have a bit confession, gloss over that phase of inglorious history by every means instead. From their orthodox historical textbook, the westerners of new generation will not feel ashamed of piracy of their elder generation , but modern Japanese militarism will find its ethical basis from it . However, the world order which we face today, in practice is formed by our understanding of history. Rule of " weapon advanced person person win " it include, to establish , stand before 150 year. We do not criticize history in the past, the rule that we can't change today . And just the rule, make the mankind enter nuclear terror , make people read and can not move towards the peaceful road .

To 4321go,

As a Dutch war victim of the Japanese, I don't care for apologizes from Japanese ministers 60 years after WW II.
But I would be very happy when Japan starts writing their honest war history, that would be very brave after 60 years of denials.
My hope's are set on the Democratic Party of Japan.

1. Japan did not apologize.
2. Japan apologized, but Chinese people are not satisfied with the apologies, and unwilling to accept.
3. Japan apologized, but many Chinese people don't know about it.

I guess many Japanese people tend to think 2 or 3 is true.
But it seems many Chinese people say 1.

So which one is true? There is a huge perception gap between Japan and China. It seems that China pays attention only when some stupid Japanese people do or say stupid things, and whenever there is a chance she tries to find more reasons to complain about Japan.

So if you can access to this taiwanese site. Actually, some taiwanese know better.

and now wondering...Why are you saying all these? I guess nobody here can do anything much about it.

Do you know the famous Chinese writer ヒ廛ツ迅? The True story of AhQ!! I like the "spiritual victory" of the Chinese people very much. And what they are doing is ナスツゥ窶佚?。{窶拊窶廬ツ行ヒ??

Honestly, I love things about both China and Japan, and at the same time get really irritated with both.

The nationalism in both countries, the unwillingness of both to apologize and compromise.

The Japanese government does need to stop denying history and should really send more money than $8 million for the many chemical weapons they left buried in China.

At the same time China can be a bit hypocritical and needs to show the will to compromise.

For reflection:

"One does not hate so long as one continues to rate low, but only when one has come to rate equal or higher."

"To be able to be an enemy, to be an enemy - this, perhaps, presupposes a strong nature; in any case it is bound up with all strong natures. They need resistance, accordingly they seek for it: the pathos of aggression belongs of necessity to strength as much as the feelings of revenge and rancor belong to weakness... The strength of the aggressor is in a manner determined by the opposition he needs; every increase of strength betrays itself by a search for a more formidable opponent - or problem... The task is not to overcome opponents in general, but only those against whom one must pit all one's strength, skill, and swordsmanship-opponents who are one's equals. To be the EQUAL of the enemy-this is the first condition of an honorable duel. Where one despises, one CANNOT wage war. Where one commands, where one sees something beneath one, one ought NOT to wage war..." FRIEDRICH NIETZSCHE

In addition, different views on life, different lifestyles of different nations, different religions will always collide with each other. People did, have and will ALWAYS hate and kill each other. If you don't like it then stop living and giving birth to children!

One will not be able to impartially accept reality until he/she stops hating and begins to respect the others, to respect their own opinions, interests, aspirations, etc., to respect one's enemies and love them (i.e. the people who are going to kill you and your children).

Let all idiosyncratic idiots and those who don't want and are afraid to live and consequently hinder in the others' living shut up and die.

As regards Japan (and some other countries) I can say the following. Such countries as Japan, Russia, China are unique countries. We all must save what distinguish us from the Occident (the USA, Europe), what makes us unique and dissimilar to the other cultures. However at the same time we are not the Orient. We are something different. Japan, China and Russia must be together. We shouldn't allow the West to thrust their material and spiritual values on us. If we allow them to do that then we will PERISH. Remember what Nietzsche wrote about "Russian fatalism"! From this point of view I would say that communism is not so bad thing. Quite the contrary. Much worse things are "Californication", "American life style" and "Americanizing".

There is at least one arse-hole who doesn't want to understand it. (I mean the idiot who kills Iraqi people now, who says "We bring you freedom and democracy! We better know what life is and what your life's purpose is! Confess!" Stupid blether, isn't it?)

I'll rather die than I'll allow him and his like-minded persons to f*** my mind!!!

Japan, I love you! China, I love you too! The USA, I... Well... I respect even Americans and their views on life (but I will never accept them!). :)

And I am 100 per cent sure that Yukio Misima would understand what I am talking about. Just remember his death...
