"But why is it even enough of an issue to BE a nickname?"
OK, dude, it's JUST a nickname. Hell I could call him any other color with ey or ie or just y at the end, and even if it didn't make sense, it would JUST be a nickname. Heck, I could call him drop-out, even though he's anything but. To quote a good friend,"Sometimes a cigar is JUST a cigar."
"Its not a question of whether he cares or not, its the point that the issue was ever enough to warrant a nickname in the first place."
As a friend, you're bound to be given a nickname of some sort by atleast one person at one time or another. Again, read my above statement
"*sigh* You started it. YOU. You made the intial post about being offended by caucasians talking to asian girls."
Mmhmm, and that was my response to this topic. Now then, did the three of you have to all say such negative things? No. You could've just ignored it. I don't recall it saying,"Does anyone agree with me?" Just, my opinion.
"And how is talking to a caucasian the wrong path in and off itself? unless you know THAT causian is a bad guy HIMSELF then there is no problem for you to be fatherly about and theres no 'right path' taht shes not taking. For all you know she could be heading down the best path of her life."
I DO know him
"You don't have to hate a race to make yourself a racist."
*coughcontradictedallstatedbeforecough*
"Just feel superiority off one race over another. ANY caucasian that said what you just but reveresed, that whites are more moral, of better character than blacks or asians would be called racist. There is no question there."
OK, but you see, I don't treat any race differently from any other, so just because I mentally think that Asians(w/i state, city, etc, u get point) are "better" makes me a racist? You know, I don't see how that adds up as I've accepted everybody as normal people my whole life and continue to have close white friends of both genders of many ages, if I were truly a racist one could imply I wouldn't like whites PERIOD.
"What?
Then whats this?
Quote:
Well, I know that when I see a white guy hitting on an Asian female I get offended and want to stop them, even if they're no one I know and the Asian isn't my blood.
Need that one more time?
Quote:

Just in case you missed it
Quote:

Too bad I'M ALREADY PAST THAT huh? Baka
"Its funny how much your stories keep changing and shifting."
So what? You're such a dolt it's really making me mad. You're trying to make it seem like I'm changing it, yet, CHECK THE STATISTICS! Quit acting like I'm just making thigns up to get by. I did mean Koreans, I was just implying it by saying Asians. Don't believe me? Check statistics, or shut up.
"I'm not American."
So? I still stand by it.
"You judged me. Before knowing anything about me. Uh-oh. Guess what?"
Um, I'm OPENLY PREDJUDICE. Nice try Bill O'Reilly
"By the way Ape, what nationality passport do you hold? What citizenship?
For the love of god it better not be an American passport or you jsut wrecked yourself beyond measure."
I really wouldn't know. I've only once held my passport, since most of the times when I go flying my parents have it, but I never actually read it. And, I really don't care to know.
"FYI I'm Australian"
Thanks for sharing
"And how is talking to, being with a caucasian the wrong path in and off itself? Like I said, do you KNOw the guy she is interacting with is a bad guy? Do you KNOW his history and character? Or are you assuming absed on race?"
I know him

Um, why should I care? The Japanese I know all know me and consider me to be Japanese. So what if I'm not full-blooded? That doesn't entail me to anything else, cept, maybe those Japanese-only bars...
"Or suspicion of crime."
Because I'm not full-blooded I'm more suspected of crime? That's pretty messed up @_@
"Or workplace rights."
I wouldn't work at a place that would or wouldn't hire me because of race.
"So why even mention you owned your own pair."
I don't know XD.
"Fun true story. I go to my local konbini at least twice a week to buy dinner. I actually talk to 2 of the people there and in all likelihood will be hitting a bar or two with one of the guys from there one day.
Yet theres an older women there. EVERY time I go there, if she serves me, EVERY time she asks if I want a fork, not chopsticks. Think after a year of my face popping up there she'd know right?"
Maybe it's protocol? She could just be generous incase you had a change. Nice story
"I doubt it. Childhood memories are always distorted. Kids have an innate ability to not notice whats really happening around them."
Eh, that's just an assumption. I mean, most do, but I've kept track of anything from ages.....I believe 5 or 4 or so and up. Not permanent replays of my life, just small things. But, I had a capable and able mind at age 7, so of course I remember my trip to Japan. Not certain details like say a name of an arcade, but certainly walking around town and what have you.
Quote:
Even if I was/am going to be stared at, why would I care? Atleast I'm getting attention. Hell if it got a conversation going I'd be more than happy to be eye-candy.
"You wont be saying that after the 10th inane conversation of 'where are you from' and 'can you eat natto?'"
I really wouldn't care. I mean, I'm guessing because I was young and only knew a little Japanese I wasn't asked that much, but even if I am, I'd be more than happy to tell them about the abomination of a country to which I came from.
"Another story change."
Um, no, that's BEEN apparent.
"Did you live or did you visit? When did you live there and for how long?"
I was only there for a week, so by textbook definition, I LIVED there for a week. I mean, in the English language, we can assume that "live" is over a wider range of time, while visit is brief and short. However, I technically LIVED there, even though I didn't enroll in a school or begin stocking my fridge full of food as if to dwell there for a long while.
"You're rather mixed heritage. Like me. Thats very amusing and curious for Japanese."
Fine with me.
"NO
YOU'RE
NOT"
Um, even if I'm half, I'm still Japanese. Notice the word "Japanese" as the second word with a hyphen and the word half in front of it. If it says Japanese, then technically, I'm Japanese. I'm not full-blooded 100%, but I still am.
"You are NO MORE Japanese than Yun is. She has more points on you in that she has lived in Japan all her life. She was born here, raised here, named here. She looks and acts Japanese. But a small 'mistake' of genetics, of parenthood, in that one parent is Korean. Thats enough. Enough for her to not be Japanese in the eyes of her peers. Enough for her to be taunted and treated as an outcast. For something thats not obvious at all unless she says her first name completely or someone investigates her."
Why should I care? Although I'd be more than ecstatic to be 100% Japanese, I really don't care. It doesn't make me any more or less happier.
"You'd be happy to be bullied and picked on? treated like a freak and ostracised? You;d be happy for your kids to get that too?"
Well, by the time I move to Japan I likely won't be getting bullied. Well, maybe verbally. Even so, well, I really need to know what kind of bullying we're talking about. I mean, even if it were physical, I'd avoid it, but if it were unavoidable I'd defend myself. I'm no stranger to fighting, but I'm also no stranger to peace. When I was there I wasn't treated like a freak or ostracised, and I have relations with quite a few Japanese teens at this point in time, and none of them find me weird or freaky that I'm half-Japanese. And, so what if my kids look or don't look Japanese in Japan? Sure, they may be treated a little differently, but if they speak it and write it, so what? Besides, who knows my kids will look like? It all depends on the female set now won't it. Either way, I really doubt my kid(s) will be bullied, but even so...wait, why are we talking about parenting?
"Naiveity."
No, good friendship, a concept you don't seem to be familiar with. Look, I know the difference between a FRIEND and just some guy to hang with. Seriously, I've known these people nearly my whole life, and they're not the kind of person who'd turn their backs on me, unless it was their life or mine, whichcase I wouldn't know what'd happen, but that's not important right now.
"It doesnt amtter how many 'Japanese traits' you hold, you're missing one a few important things. 100% Japanese blood or very close too. A Japanese passport and COMPLETE Japanese upbringing solely in Japan"
Again, I want to know what being 100% Japanese has to do with anything? I don't care if it affects me so long as I can get a job there. That's all I need, well, for starters.
"Oh another one of my students. Yui. Also 14. Lived in America for 3 years while her dad worked. Came back. Must now attend an international school because of the treatment she got at her Japanese school when she returned. She wasn't 'Japanese' any more. Kids can be so cruel."
That sucks. Well, I've never attended a Japanese school, but I severely doubt it'll be any worse. I mean, firstly I'm not really the target of bullying, cept for my race, because otherwise I'm just a simple, generic male. Either way, if race is all, I won't care, because I get treated terribly here, and I'm happy as a monkey on steroids, so I doubt people calling me gaijin daily or Marui-Me will upset me. Now, if they start using violence at inappropriate times(like, carrying a lunch tray) then I might have some problems, but I doubt they'll do the kind of things they do here.
"Almost. A few Japanese even view Okinawans as different. But those types are real idiots."
Yeah, I've heard about how people from different regions of Japan were treated different from say people in Tokyo, as if it's the heart. Well, it IS the capitol, but that doens't make it the most important place
"No but you;d think, if you were right or at least defenceable that SOMEONE, ANYONE ehre would take your side. (as a side whats the bet that a new poster, a one post bandit will suddenly weigh in supporting Cyber Ape?)"
Um, I didn't ASK for anyone to take my side. Again, you tried to start a war, not me. Although I accepted your challenge, well, not you, but somebody(I think Kei) started it. I didn't ask if anyone agreed, i just stated my opinion.
"Story changes again."
No you dolt, you guys just kept trying to get me to be racist and didn't listen to anything I said. It's always been The Caucasians and Asians within the city of Evans, GA. However, you guys thought when I said Caucasians I meant every last one. Then when I said Georgia, you again thought every one in GA. The whole time I meant where I lived, and since you know my age I'm sure you know my location.
"Question. Would a caucasian in Georgia saying that he and all the other caucasians are morally or intellectually superior to Asians be racist?"
No. If he accepted atleast one Asian, then he wouldn't be racist.
Quote:
Too bad I'm over that huh dip shnoggle?
"But you still gotta be fatherly? And name calling? Backed into a wall much?"
You know, this is the one thing that bothers me about old people; their inability to realize they too are on the same plane with the adolescents I hate. You aren't superior to kids, and don't bother trying to say you are, because you aren't. Name-calling doesn't make me any more or less mature. Name-calling allows me to simplify my statements and thoughts into a few words that are both powerful and inane and are said by people to help them put others "in their place."
"see what I'm getting at?
I haven't even been to Japan and I'm already getting the treatment pooka talks about.
if we know any japanese or anything about japanese culture, it seems we're practically japanese! Except we're not."
Why are you trying to disprove my blood? Why would I lie about my background?
"whatta...?
so this girl you sorta fancied but didn't want anyway, cuz she wasn't your taste or whatever, was your daughter?... nice family you've got there."
Ugh, I'm so sick of this response. When I say father, I mean guardian. I watch over her, not be half her bearer. I did not fertalize anybody's egg, I'm just a guardian. Must I replace that word too, or are you going to accuse me of changing the story?
"You are the most inconsistant person I have ever seen.
It might work for a while in real life just to make new stuff up as you go along, but on a bulletin board your old posts can be reviewed. (but even in real life, there's a good saying... "A good liar must have an excellent memory"... it's true.)"
Ugh, it's a shame that you don't read my posts. When I said Asians, I was implying you already knew. If you think I'm lying, check out some sort of census chart. You will see that there is a HIGH population of Koreans within the Evans, GA district. Try to prove me wrong about that; I've lived here a year and a half. As for the whole Caucasians, THE WHOLE TIME I MEANT WITHIN AUGUSTA, GA, BUT YOU FOOLS TOOK MY EXAGGERATION LITERALLY AND THOUGHT I MEANT IN THE ENTIRE WORLD! Maybe if you'd realize that things aren't always literal you could see past your arrogance and certainty.
"heh, I've seen whites pull the "I'm not racist, I have a black friend!" card before, but I've never seen the "I'm not racist, I have a white friend" one... hehe"
While that's humorous that's really a pretty simple post. The United States of America's population is a majority of what? CAUCASIANS! Now, if you asked a non-caucasian they might say this, but even so, that's just stupid. I mean, if somebody calls you racist against blacks and you have a black friend, then they're the dolt. But if they call you racist PERIOD without designating a race, and you choose the African-American trump, you'll look as stupid as David Blaine.
