Which warrior are you?

This is great! :D

While reading descriptions, I was like, "Yeah, that's so-and-so" or "yeah, that's me"....

Thanks for sharing! :p

What, no sharing ? :p
-----------------
Awe, this is really good, hahahaha.... :devilish:
I really can't make up my mind as I transform according to the times but these are difinitely the possibilities. I could choose my style as the flame wars evolve in it's own special way... but for now, I am believed to have the folllowing traits;

Duelist: In a perpetual personal feud, Duelists generally don't menace anyone but each other, unless, of course, another Warrior foolishly gets between them. They may not even remember what started the fight, but not they cordially loathe one another and seize every to go at each other. When the other Warriors eventually weary of their endless kvetching the Duelists will be shouted down or Nanny will ban them. Even after getting the heave-ho from one forum, however, it is not unusual for them to seeking each other in other forums to renew their fight.

Jekyl & Hyde: As a forum participant Jekyll and Hyde always plays by the rules and is consistently cordial and helpful – a model netizen, until one day he comes completely uncorked and lashes out without warning. His unanticipated thunderbolts can temporarily rout even the sturdiest Warriors, and it often takes some time for his stunned opponents to mount a counter attack. Jekyll and Hyde's sudden behavioral change may result from a psychotic episode, PMS, a downturn in the market, a surprise visit by the in-laws – or a session of hard drinking...

Jerk: is sarcastic, mean, unforgiving and never misses an opportunity to make a cutting remark. Jerk's repulsive personality quickly alienates other Warriors, and after some initial skirmishing he is usually ostracized. Still, Jerk is very happy to participate in electronic forums because in cyberspace he is free to be himself...without the risk of getting a real-time punch in the mouth.

Netiquette Nazi: is in control and does not tolerate back talk, especially from a sniveling worm like you. He demands the strictest adherence forum protocols and rules of engagement . If you deviate in the slightest you WILL be punished. Even Admin is careful not to attract his ire.

I Always Wondered ???

Anyone ever hear of a forum member tracking another member down to do physical harm to him? It would seem hard to do unless he was dumb like me and used a real name. I suppose a person with access to the IP address and good computer savy could go after someone, but you would need money and knowledge of how to get away with the dirty deed.It would seem a member who likes to argue and upset other members should realize how many nuts there are in the world who just might hunt him down in anger?
SOOOO, anyway, anyone know of a true story(not rumor or myth) of a forum member killing or hurting another member?

Frank

:? 😲

This site is absolutely amazing. What perspicacity in the description. I wish we all could remember the name for each type of behaviour and label all forum member with these hilarious names. Unfortunately mine are a bit too obvious : Admin, Philosopher, Atheist, Eagle Scout ... depending on my mood.

I have noticed that we had quite a few Net Rats, Newbies, Lurkers, Necormancers, Pinkos, Patois, Acnes and Fanboys. However, we seem to have few if any Netiquette Nazi, Ethnix, Xenophobe, Innocence Abused, Perv or Strumpet (my presence also repels Deans). I sippose this is due to the nature of the forum too (international, multicultural, specialised interests, some subforums mostly destined to teenagers...)

Maybe this could help us set guidelines about which kind of behaviour should be banned (e.g. Enfant provocateur, Troller).

Should we, for instance, allow :

- ALLCAPS
- Compost
- Evil Clown
- Ferrous Cranus
- Garble
- Grunter
- Jerk
- Lamer
- Loopy
- Palooka
- Troglodyte

I would opt to ban them to keep a minimum standard of quality on the forum, even if they do not seriously disturb the forum.

I was wondering if there was any Godfather or Kung-fu Master on the forum. Acording to the description, they rarely participate, so they are hard to spot.

haha I hate to say but I would proabbly be Yuk Yuk - tho I'm really not that bad i hope - well I spent my formative internet years solely in comedy groups so...i'm afraid it's too late for me...

Lexico, I think you have forgotten "Eagle Scout", "Archivist" and "Necromancer" for you. :p You have a formidable memory for past threads and always do a good job to find interesting or relevant articles on the net.

Thank you, thank you, Mac ! You are truly a morale booster; Eagle Scout for me at the moment ! 🙂

Do you think we can have a "warrior type status" field in the personal profile ? That way we could communicate the mood of engagement for the day for being either more sensitive or more playful. It would of course involve vB code programming for Thomas, so I guess we'd have to go through him if we like the idea. 😌

I can do that myself. I will add a field. We could have :

- an open field (type whatever you want, but people who don't know this site might type strange stuff)
- a scrolling menu (like for the country flags), but with only one choice (tough)
- a multiple choice of all types (like for the interests), but that would take quite a lot of space.

Which do you think is better ?

I think for the "Warrior Type for the day" to show under the Avatar, it would help to keep it simple. (option b)

For new members or members unfamiliar with it, we could have something in the FAQ sheet explaining it (or the link to the Warrior page.) (no preference)

I think once they get to see the site, they will understand, and can update their warrior type. (no preference)

As for changing moods, we could also update from time to time to let others know how happy/willing or foul a mood we are in. :p

Well, that site is another morning wasted for me! Like KNM, I can see people there! Anyone know a rottweiler puppy? :D
Lex - I agree, you can be Jekyll and Hyde, but not often!
Uncle Frank - you're the Godfather!
There are a fair few royals...
One person springs to mind for loopy - you know who I mean, right?
I think I can be pithy phrase on occasion, I hate to admit it but I have been fragile femme more than once. On the topic of religion, I am a swarm. But probably I am just tiny yapper and an idealogue! :p

this soo rings a bell, if anyone remembers a long time ago, on this forum actually this member was threating me and trying to find where i live so he can come and get me, He went by the name of Hitman_X he recently signed up again as Ermac, but doesn't seem to come on anymore (i've been keeping track of him).

It was partially umprovoked to why he was harassing me, to this day i dont know why he was doing it.

Rottweiler Puppy he is the best!!!!

Funny, I don't seem to fit any of those profiles at all. Hmm, I must be a special case then. :-)

Doc 🙂

Yes Doc, you're special.

Funny thing about that site is that we all fit in multiple names. You might think that you are one, but other people might think of you differently, and we can laugh secretly.

I'm sure I fit more than one but haven't taken time out to figure out which yet, so went with the most obvious. If you were all as bad as your descriptions, I couldn't stand any of you! 😲 (or me) Except for Doc that is.

To tell you the thruth, I don't think I fit any of those terms. Sure, I was in the military (Navy), so I guess I come closest to being a Centurian, however, I don't rave about my years in the service. I thought about Philospher, but I like to think I have a sense of humor, so that's probably a no-go. I'm neither a ranter, a dweeb, certainly NOT a Perv, nor am I confrontational or a know-it-all. Hmm! I'm not sure just where I fit in. Perhaps that's a good thing as it means I'm unique! HA!

Big Cat would rather not fight...he enjoys peacefully observing forum conversations and laconically participates when the moods strikes. He playfully chases interesting threads, and from time to time uses a Newbie or Propellerhead as a convenient scratching post. He enjoys being stroked or petted, and tends to purr loudly. CAUTION: Don't be fooled by his fuzzy, playful exterior. When provoked, Big Cat reacts with lightning speed and almost always lands on his feet after an attack. Big Cat often indulges himself by toying with his victim before delivering his lethal blows.

*cough* meow.....meow...........meow.......*flops on his back and plays away*

Troller is looking for a response...ANY response, and he will chum the waters with complaints, insults, compliments, and inflammatory tidbits hoping that someone...ANYONE, will take the bait. Generally quite harmless - practices a form of catch and release. Nonetheless, he can upset the delicate ecology of a discussion forum. Once a forum becomes aware of his presence, however, all feeding activity ceases and Troller must move on to more promising waters.

Loopy's messages are incomprehensible to all but himself. Loopy is easily aroused and exuberant in battle and fearlessly flings himself at any Warrior - even Kung-Fu Master. Loopy's main weapons consist of a disarming array of nonsequiturs, tautologies, and bizarre metaphors, which can often gain him an advantage in the initial stages of an attack. Combatants very quickly realize, however, that Loopy is a certifiable nut case and generally avoid further engagement. Jerk and Evil Clown revel in egging Loopy on for their own amusement. CAUTION: Loopy cannot be defeated with conventional weapons - any response to his attacks will provoke a fusillade of incoherent messages, so Loopy is best left undisturbed.

Is it just you or does this guy seem to babble on and on without making any sense whatsoever? Does he lurch from one non sequitur to another? Are you baffled by his obscure metaphors? Are there so many typos you think that maybe he was typing while wearing a catcher's mit? Can he really MEAN what he just said? What in the hell is hey talking about, anyway? Is this guy smoking something? Well, yes...in fact he is, and lightly tethered in orbit high above the Earth Bong remains far beyond the grasp of the even the most powerful of Warriors.

haha maybe these three compile my internet persona 😊
