hmmm... i am curious about some things in this forum, i wonder when it was created, who the founders are (or something alike), what's the story behind this. i find this forum very interesting and i'm enjoying it a lot. is there a link or a url with these info?

my first 14 years in california the other 6 in texas less the summers in cali save this last one. as far as blood im a mix of nearly half of europe, germany being the biggest contibuter since my oma came to the states after WWII. and abit of american indian as well.

Well, I was born in Virginia, but spent most of my life in North Carolina before moving back to Virginia. Southern and have the accent to prove it...

As far as my descendants are concerned, my father's side is German-Swiss/Swiss-German(whatever you want to call it) and also a touch of Native American in there, and my mother's side is pretty much all English. Her side of the family came to Virginia in 1613.

I think i know how they pronounce it , but not certain, i know how i would pronounce it. Gerhard , i would simply remove the "h" Gerard, but that has probably to do with my former french studies and that we have a quite special pronouncation in swedish.

but my grandma was Russian, so I have a Russian name. The government first wanted to forbid my parents to give me that name because the name sounds like a woman's name in german though it's a typical man's name in Russia. Oh well, I still got it. I'm fine with it.

Of course I know, but there are more than 200 countries in the world and I had to classify them by region. There is surely more difference between 2 European countries (take Finland and Greece or Ireland and Spain) or 2 Asian countries (Indonesia and Kazhakhstan ?) than between English-speaking Oz and NZ. I hope you understand...
