My avatar is....

the cover for the VHS movie box for the US release by the company Manga
of Patlabor 2 the movie.

For a time I thought all anime pretty much revolved around those released
by the US company Manga. Not knowing until relatively recently directors,
writers, etc...except maybe in passing.
