Whats the song that most moves you?

What is the song that most tugs at your emotions, makes you really think or feel something, that really touches somewhere inside you.


Mine has to be moonlight sonata by beethoven.




It doesnt seem to matter how many times I hear this song, and though I enjoy classical music, this one seems to be at the top of my favorate list.

I could list quite a good lot more songs that touch me but this one really you know, touches something deep inside me, makes me feel something, which you sometimes need in this modern life, to feel a bit human if you will.

So yeah, this song would be the one that "moves" me.

"Nella Fantasia" composed by Ennio Morricone and performed by various artists such as Russell Watson, Sarah Brightman, Il Divo, Amici Forever, Martin Toal, Celtic Woman, etc. I've yet to hear a version I didn't like.

That's an excellent choice there nurizeko, I also like the Moonlight Sonata most if it comes to classical music.

But generally I would say Dearest from Ayumi Hamasaki. It just touches me every time I put it on.

Moonlight Sonata and Nella Fantasia are great songs!!

My contribution is on the lighter side, and it is my current favorite.
It's a song by a Japanese singer from Amami Islands, singing in the distinctive Amami style of vocalization, combined with falsetto.
The lyrics are also beautiful, singing about people parting ways to pursue their individual paths in life, with hope to meet again in the same strong bond of friendship and/or love. It's very fitting for Japan's graduation season coming in March.

Recently I'd have to say it's anything by Il Divo and Josh Groban's "You Are Loved (Don't Give Up) and "You Raise Me Up" which is also performed by Il Divo in, I think, Italian. Those songs really move me.

Garth Brooks did a number of songs that moved me heart and soul, but the two that moved me the most were; 'The Cowboy Song': It painted a picture of who hard it was back then. 'Wolves': Since it tells how bad it's getting to be for the American farm family.

There are a lot of songs/pieces that really move me, and often it depends on my mood. Moonlight Sonata is a good choice! That's a really cool piece.

I also like 'Ma Vlast' by Smetana, I can get really absorbed in that.

The theme of Phantom of the Opera... I love it.

Other songs which move me... right now I can think of... Honey Vanity (Kozi), Sick **** (Unter Null), Corroded Cage (Schwarz Stein), Ohne Dich (Rammstein), Crown (Schwein), Avant que l'ombre (Mylene Farmer), Cage (Dir en grey), Promenade (Kozi), Misemono Koya (Kozi), Terminus (Ralph McTell), First Song (Ralph McTell), 1R (MUCC), Gekkou (MUCC)....... probably a zillion more as well.

Although classical music is basically my favorite form of music, even opera is not what I think of as "songs", so I will stick to non-classical vocal works.

There are three songs by Patsy Cline that have special meaning for me: "Sweet Dreams", "Crazy", and especially "I Fall to Pieces". Been there. Done that.

One that might seem odd to some people is the Move's version of "The Last Thing on my Mind" (written by Tom Paxton) from their album Shazam. (Now available only from Japan!)

Some people might think this one is corny, but "Nights in White Satin" by the Moody Blues has special meaning for me, particularly because of the line "Letters I've written, never meaning to send". I've done that.

Marty Robbins' version of "The Streets of Laredo" always moves me.

Those are the ones that come to mind most readily.
