not that I would know spacifically... but from what i've read about people... they seem open to all kinds of music from America.... i mean, in one of the magazins my friend baught (i froget which) they had an add for Arvil Lavigne *throws up*

but... Black Eyes Peas aren't strictly rapp either... i mean, yeah, there's rapp in there, lol... but they're not hardcore cos they got that anoying woman who can't sing for squot live....

well... basically, what i'm saying is... it doesn't suprise me...
and... well.. i know Rap's pretty big in Korea...
 
Yes furan. I agree with you, they seem pretty open to all kinds of American-style bands. Unfortunately Avril Lavigne and -shudders- Good Charlotte. -rushes to her bathroom-

BEP's are more kind of hip-hop I guess? I don't really know. As a general, I despise nearly all rap, hip-hop, and anything related to it really. Actually, I can usually only stomache American-style rock music. I hate pop, and rarely would I ever listen to country. Everything else is realy just a no. For me anyways. Haha, that woman can't sing live! -points and laughs- Mean, but I hate their music.

It doesn't surprise me either, and yeah, rap is pretty popolar in Korea, I found some sites with some Korean Rap artists... I could try to hunt downt the links if you want:?

Hip-hop is big in Japan too, isn't it?
The clothing style is at least. Just look at some of the more major artists like (sorry to say) Miyavi. I'm talking strickly clothes here, so don't kill me. Please?
Anyway, the japanese do listen to a lot of crap, I don't think it's so hard to be big in Japan...

Yes, but the great difference between American-style hip-hop/rap dressers and Miyavi... is Miyavi makes it look good Why would anyone kill you?:? I'm not big on conflict, though I can be if someone trespasses sacred teritory XD
Unfortunately they do... I HATE Avril Lavigne and Good Charlotte. There are too many "bands" and "artists" like them in North America. The horrible sh*t like them has driven me to JRock. And I'm proud to say, that I love a lot of JRock, all of it I love waaayy more than American-style music. Though, the Japanese hip-hop/rap songs that I have listened to, are rather entertaining.
 
my cousin who lives in Japan told me that rap is really popular in Japan now... so i'm not surprised too... ^^;; My cousin himself said that Japanese rap is kinda silly... he dislikes Japanese rappers...
 
I like Korean and Japanese RAp hip-hop music, but I also like classical music.....
but yeah, im a big fan, and if you could remember that site, PM it to me
 
It is quite silly.

I'll try and find those links, there's like a huge list of Korean pop/rock/rap groups. I used it in the past for sure to enlarge my Korean music Collection (which happens to be pitifully small).

yeah, Miyavi really does wear that kind of stuff... a lot of them do actually... and there's an air of 'bling bling' with some of them to *cough*Isshi*cough*

actually, a friend's friend from uni whent over there and released a buch of CDs of him singing choir music and they're doing pretty well! lol.... he's in Yokohama at the moment

Korean rap makes me laugh.... becasue in my head everything Korean can be found in some way to be 'badass' - and i think rap/hip hop is the cor of 'badass'
(the TRAX do a lot of rapping, and so to Cherry Filter ^.^)

I like some Japanese kind of hip hop.. stuff..
And reggae-ish.. XD like MINMI and PUSHIM.. they are great female singers
 
When I was in Shibuya,Tokyo I went in a shop that specialised in Hip Hop clothing and records. I can deal with japanese Reggae, but I've not heard any of their home grown Hip Hop yet.
My favourite Hip Hop recently is Quasimoto. He's a DJ and MC from California.
He uses effects to speed up his voice, and also raps in his natural voice,too - and it's not too gangster related. Lots of obscure old samples and breaks.

her recorded voice is great.... but i saw them perform live on top of the pops or something like that and...... god i wanted to throw a brick threw the TV screan
i don't know what it is about her that buggs me so much... it's really stupid..

Japan has some good hiphop dj's/groups

like Dj Krush
and Dj Honda(who did some stuff with nas) and Dragon Ash is pretty good
and Smorgas(but thats more rapcore like) is nice
 
If you're replying to what I said, I meant English. I've only heard, as far as Japanese rap/r&b goes, Orange Range and that one GLAY song with Excile in it...xD
 
I really like the TRAX:? Rose is my favorite. He looks so.... angry pounding on those drums in the video for PARADOX I love that songs
