Cool beans! I've been a Mac user since 1994 and have loved the experience! In fact, with my birthday coming up on Thursday, I'm thinking of treating myself to a new G5 iMac. Should be great!

I started to use Mac back in the day with the Apple II. That's all my elementary school could afford. God I loved those things. Anyway, I got back into Mac about two years ago with my graphic design classes. Now I consider Mac my mistress.

My mistress has been supremely faithful to me as well when it comes to website design. I doubt I could've made my website work a fraction as well on Windows. Mac for life!

I love it when people say that Windows is the easiest OS to use. Yeah right! Mac is the easiest, and it shows too. Shoot I never used OS 10 before until my graphic design classes, but I was able to utilize it all quickly with minimal errors. My instructor was even surprised for somebody who just jumped right in with the Mac OS. I love Mac!

I forget what version of Windows I was using back in early '94 before I got fed up with dealing with it and switched to Mac. Admittedly, I was a tad leery, not knowing what to expect, but the transition was smoother than I thought, and the learning curve practically non-existent as I was using the Mac like a pro after all of a day as I pride myself as being a quick study. And I haven't looked back since. Now I'm sure you've heard about the upcoming iMacs and PowerBooks with Intel core duo chips? Since I haven't bought my new iMac yet, it looks like that machine will have Intel in it. Should be interesting!

I about cried when I heard that Intel would be making the chips for the new Macs. I wanted Athlon dang it! All I can say is that they better be good, or Steve Jobs is getting a bloody nose! :box:

Yeah, I know! New technology can be so full of bugs and whatnot, you need the Orkin Man instead of a programmer to get rid of 'em! However, Stevie's been on quite a roll with new stuff that's come out over the last couple of years (save of the iPod Shuffle), so let's see what happens with these new machines!

I'd kill to be able to use DOS again--anythings better than the X.tremely P.ainful home edition that blew up my computer a few days ago.

Okay, it didn't blow up literally but it's got a terminal case of the Blue Screen Of Death.

I've tried Mac, but as long as the guy running the show focuses on fun toys, that's all a Mac machine's ever going to be. You can have all the CPU cycles and ram chips you want, but a system designed for multimedia and not hard computing is simply not going to make the best use of the hardware. IBM machines have always been more function than form--it's just too bad they've been overrun by Mr. Monopoly.

Man, what I wouldn't give for a version of DOSShell that could handle modern aplications--I'd even settle for text based at this point...

I love how Linux and its variants seem to have been lumped into the "Other" category. hehe.

You could be one of the lucky few, i personally think the best os is Linux especially the Ubuntu version, from a programmer point of view you get all you need and much more and all free, plus if you are learning kana there is a little game called kanatest that is just great !

Yo, Uncle Frank! I imagine you stayed pretty fit and healthy back in the day, what with all that running from those sabretooths!

Yeah Jeff and Doc, Mac all the way!

I've broken way too many Windows computers through mistakes that could have been easily prevented.

On the downside, I opted for the lowest RAM speed (256) when I first bought my iBook G4, due to my ultra-cheapskatedness, so now I'm seriously thinking of upgrading it. Sigh... I just need money. But on the plus side, my Mac has remained my loyal friend for a almost two years with almost no crashing/freezing. I wuv him (yes, it's a he). My PC back at home, which uses ME, used to crash/freeze every other day, if I was lucky.

Windows XP, but I will also install Ubunto (Linux) later today.

Ubunto = No worries about viruses, spyware....etc. and it's free and so is all the software what is provided by Linux.
