Just wondering what was your first car?? the car you started off with maybe just after you passed your test?? In Britain you usally dont start off with a very good car, such as a friend just passed his test and got a pretty bad car a peugeot 106, but is ok to start with.

Just wondering what you people started with and if it was good or bad. I am not too familiar with japanese guys so if some of you could post some pictures that would be great.

Ill post some picture's of a few of cars my family and friends have had but image station doesnt seem to be working =(

Garage Car

My first was a 1962 Ford Galaxy 500. I would drive it for a day or two and it would break down and go to the garage for a week. I would get it back and drive a day or two till something else would go wrong, and back to the garage. This went on for 3 months till my dad said ignore the dash warning lights. He said if a lite comes on, ignore it and drive anyway. Not knowing much about cars at the time, when the oil warning light came on, I ignored it! I drove home from high school (5 miles) . By the time I got home I had the gas pedal to the floor boards to do 5 miles an hour. I made it home and off the car went to the garage. The repair man said the big 400CI engine got so hot the pistons were welded to the engine block and the car went to to the auto graveyard. My father said on my next car, pay attention to the warning lights! In 3 months, I drove it about 10 days; a true lemon!

At least yours ran. Technically my first car was a very old diesel Audi 5000 with no piston heads. Well, three piston heads and one shorn through the middle. It was my Dad's idea to fix it and learn about cars. Fun, right? Ever try and find a pison head for a diesel Audi 5000 on a budget? Nope. I guess1999 was the year of my first real car; a very low mile (as in 27,000)1979 blue and silver Datsun 280ZX (sigh). Oh, how I miss it so.

i got my first car in '99, it was a black 1988 chevrolet camaro, which i drove for about 2 years with only minor problems; changing brakes, the alternator, the air conditioner compressor and the belt, before i blew the transmission on it. since i didnt have the money to fix it my mom sold it and gave me her car which was a POS, while she bought a new one. i still see the camaro around town every now and again, dude got it to run but has otherwise thrashed it, theres dings, dents and half torn body parts. *sigh* i want my camaro back...

Yea i see some of you have had a few problems, i know a friend who got an very old VW as soon as he bought, he had so much trouble. The car only lasted about 6month then was scrapped !

My first car was a 1976 Dodge Coronet. My parents bought it at a police auction, and I received it as a Christmas present. At first, I was embarrassed to be seen in it. Then, it became "the car" for the whole gang to "be seen in" and have fun with. That was back when we hadn't thought of back seat safety for children. Such as the windows only being rolled down just so much that a child could not climb out, and the back doors could not be opened from the inside to protect children—lock control, of course. Well, in this car, we all got a kick outta those features. We could go nowhere and just get out of the front seat, expecting those in the back seat to following. No, we had to let them out. Our prisons, or as we laughed about, the individuals we had chauffeured to their destination. It was great fun beyond that. When we were driving, we realised many vehicles gave us the right of way, believing we were some sort of "undercover" individuals. Later as the relationship with this vehicle and my need for adventure grew stronger, we decided to take it off-road. Mind you. This is a 4 door sedan, the exact model you have most likely seen on "Dukes of Hazard", the police vehicles used in the show. Well, all in all, we had many good off-road experiences with that old cop car. We lost a muffler on one occasion, leaving the engine to sound more like a "boat out of water" than a car as we descended the canyon roads. To this day, I still have it. Only now, it needs restoration. Parts are not easy to find. I currently drive a truck that has over 450,000 miles on it and is extremely strong. That is what I drove. I still smile as I think back to the adventures taken in it and how those adventures fed my greedy needs for exploration. I am now 40 and still tend just to leave the pavement without notice, or good reason other than a dirt road looks tempting...

When I was 16('92-'93), my stepfather gave me the choice of several cars. Mazda MX-6, Honda Del Sol, Mazda Miata, or a Nissan 240SX. For some stupid reason, though, I wanted a Geo Storm and that's what I convinced them into getting for me. Of course, I don't think I should've gotten a new car then, because I was definitely not responsible enough to handle one. I'd only had it a little over a year when I wound up wrecking it twice within 6 months and it was sold after that. I didn't get another car until 3 years later when I had to pay for one on my own. That's when I learned to appreciate my car and be more responsible. Everything was going fine until that day came when somebody ran into me and totalled it...

My first car was a 1966 Mercury Comet Capri 4-door. It lasted me 4 years before it died on me. An old man who was into car repairs as a hobby fixed it and re-sold it to a guy who wrecked it on the freeway.

My daughter got a better "first car": a 2000 Ford Mustang last year. Although used, it runs like a champ!

My first car was a 2000 Chevy Malibu. Had no problems with it until I wrecked and totaled it. I now drive a 2002 Ford Taurus which has alot of problems.

My very first car was a 1967 Dodge Dart...I hated it then, but looking back, it was a very reliable car (as long as you didn't flood the engine) and it was pretty fun to drive.

I then graduated to a Mazda 626 ('86), then a 1978 Pontiac Trans Am...big jump in hp there! The T/A was able to hit speeds over 140mph, where the Mazda was lucky to make 85mph!

i have driving licence for three years (already?! omg!).. but still i drive rarely. and i do not consider it as ''my first car'' since i'm sharing it with my older sister...
and it's Opel Corsa :) little and red :) i love it :)

The first car I bought was a 1974-75, mustard coloured Mini. Fantastic car and put up with the abuse I gave it. Dented both wings, one on a Range Rover and another on a Ford Escort van. Eventually the brakes went on it and I got an Escort. That's fun having the brakes fail when you are doing about 35 on a road approaching a junction. Fortunately the handbrake worked well and jamming it into 1st also took a lot of speed off. Someone actually bought it off me after I covered it with snow of the drive. Damn thing started first time, despite having not moved for 3 months and covered in snow. A roller skate with an engine.

I've had my driving licence for 10 years and I still don't own a car... :(

The first one I drove was a 2-litre Ford Cortina 😊 ... that was offroad though before I was old enough to drive on the road. While I was taking lessons I drove my Dad's Cavalier and my driving instructor's Toyota Corrolla. I now drive... whatever is easy to break into. :D

My first car was a 1968 Toyota Corolla Coupe bought while in Japan in 1973. I drove that thing forever and the only thing that ever failed on it was a muffler pipe that corroded out. Even back then they never broke down.

Ever since that experience I have been a Toyota man. I had three Corollas in Japan; a Toyota Celica here in the states, 1 Camry and finally a 2002 Toyota Solara.

Interesting thing is that they are so still well built that my first two Toyotas here in the states have been driven over 140,000 miles and the present one has 82,000 miles on it and not one thing has ever failed on any one of them including A/C. They were never in the shop except for having the timing belt changed out or the oil changed and that's it. Whoops, this sounds like a commewrcial.

Hey, but it's true! I bought a 1980 Toyota Pick-up new and it lasted me 13 years and 240,000+ miles. It was still running when I wrecked it. I also bought a micro-mini motorhome (on a Toyota chassis) back in 1990 and it also ran like a champ!

I got a spanking 1993 Mazda MPV (a minivan) when I hit 16 in 1998. I was happy for anything, even though my brother had just gotten a new Civic, and I became the unofficial chauffeur of my group. We sold it a couple of years ago, but it was such a part of my young life that my friends and I still reminisce about some of the times we had in it. I even incorporated it into my AIM screenname (mpvrider1). Sweet right? :)

My first vehicle was a low-end Toyota Tacoma pickup truck some years ago, presently driving a RED Toyota Tundra 4-WD ( wheel drive ) pickup truck.

I was kinda late getting my license, late as in 27, don't ask why. Anyhoo, my first car was a 1988 Honda Accord coupe which I bought in Norfolk, Virginia while I was stationed there during my Navy days. It was beige, automatic as I was too lazy to fool around with a stick and was pretty peppy for a 4-cylinder. I kept that for about five years until I traded it in for a '93 Nissan Maxima SE. Still, I have fond memories of the Honda since it was my first car.

:)

I had a 1993 ford tempo for about 2 weeks never drove it and turned out to be waste of money.

my first real car that i drove was a 1985 Crown Victoria LTD on old beat up cop car.

Did it still have the engine "police package" in it? I've driven old beat-up cop cars (Chevys) and while they may look like crap, they sure were still fast.

In the UK Hondas are seen as an old persons car. Driven by people over 50.

It sure did lol thats why i loved that car. We called it the Beast. aside from the fact that when i bought it the kid before had cardboard spoiler and 2 white racing strips down the middle of it. I got my 300 bucks out of it. drove it fast and hard, into fences, mud, fields, rolled and put it on its side. we would always find a way to put it right side up and it would start every time. well after we let it set a while and the liquids went to normal
but as far as fast cars. i had a 70 challenger and a 89 camaro. that camaro was the pickiest car ive ever had it would alway die for no reason and over headed. it got to the point when i seen white steam coming out it was normal and if red steam came out (red was the color of the car) i knew to let off of it some. that was the fist year the camaro used electric for most parts and as results many problems later on. we ended up blowing that 305 and gave me a reason to put a 350 in it
